BIO for Calvin Daniels a.k.a. Aleron

I am at best a closet poet, although my poems have appeared in a number of publications including: Cumulus, Plowman, Harvest Moon, and Pure Country Magazine.

I am a believer in the world of the internet and have found the medium rewarding and oh, yes, quite addictive. But, the fact remains that the computer has managed to make the world a much smaller place, and in that, it may finally create the global village so many have envisioned. And, therein, may lie one of humankind's greatest hopes. As I have made friends across the world, I have come to realize political boundaries are going to mean less and less in the future and without the pompous posturing of nationalistic pride, the threat of war may dissipate into nothingness.

While I wait with hopeful anticipation of such an event. I fill my life with hours of pounding the keyboard. No, it's not all internet play. By trade I am a wordsmith, a writer, a dreamer, and a journalist. In essence they are all the same thing, with the words simply taking on chameleon-like powers, meaning different things depending on which genre I am undertaking.

Journalism is my career. As senior reporter of a small city newspaper, I have the opportunity to write stories of interest to not only myself, but the community - to offer opinions that help shape ideas, and to write words which will become part of the city's history.

When not working as senior journalist at Yorkton This Week & Enterprise, I turn my attention to the world of freelance. So far my stories and photographs have appeared in more than 100 magazines and newspapers in Canada, The United States, and Germany.

Fiction, such as my growing interest in haiku, particularly with a Gothic feel, is simply another facet of my writing.

..... "Reality is an interesting concept -
But there is very little evidence it exists. .....
