Elusive Dream

If I had one wish to make, you know what I would do? I'd wish that I would meet someone, who always would be true That when they said they loved me, I'd know deep in my heart That they really meant it, and not just playing a part

I'd wish to find a soulmate, someone that I could share My every thought and dream with, my desires and my cares Someone to love with passion, to give my heart and soul To cherish and to give him, my everything, my all

If I could find a souldmate, best friend and lover too To give the love that's stored up, so freely and so true We'd share our lives together, as God meant it to be My wish would be for honesty, for love, for you and me

But wishes are not granted, as surely this we know And dreams sometimes do not come true, but on and on we go Looking, hoping, maybe...for that elusive dream But, maybe it's out there somewhere, closer than it seems
