Every year I send a poem to friends and family about our year. This is my little "ditty" for 1998.
Happy Holidays, one and all from Josie and Kevin
Here it is, another year past,
This one went faster, it seems
Than the last..
Not much too has happened about which to write,
But I'll do my best, here we go, hold on tight...
Kevin was home all winter and spring,
Seems work here at home is a nonexistent thing.
So he went back to work for his old company Armm.
To Florida he went, and oh boy was he warm..
He was only to be there for about 40 days,
But it turned out 6 months was what he was away.
He came home for a weekend in September you see,
Our daughter Shannon married her beau, Robbie.
The wedding was beautiful, the day it was bright,
And Shannon looked lovely in her gown of white.
Family was gathered from far and from near,
To witness the day and to wish them good cheer.
I worked all summer, and played on the "Net",
I even went fishing and got my feet wet..
I worked in the garden, and it did not thrive,
Under my "greenish" thumb, it is barely alive!
I killed the lawnmower the first time out - on a stump,
It choked and it chortled and then it went thump.
So the grass it grew higher as did all the weeds,
Bugs ate all my roses, and the birds ate my seeds.
And I wished and I waited and prayed for some rain,
But my wishing and hoping it all was in vain.
Now it's November and we're hanging lights,
To add some bright color to those long winter nights.
So have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year
From our house to yours, we wish you were here.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
