1. The literal translation of this shai'r would be as follows:
   They come from the invisible; these essays in my imagination Ghalib, the scratching of the pen is the whisper of the angels
2. I think in these verses Ghalib is making claims to the beyond. He is saying that the verses his pen dictates are revelations brought to him through angelic voices from the unknown. It is interesting to note the he refers to his verses as essays meaning that he is proud,or even arrogant,of the complexities that encompass his words. There is an invisible whisper that maps his thoughts into a Utopia of rhythm and poetry.
