Days Past
These are some sites from
our childhood past,
of memories very dear to us,
that will forever last.
A family get-together with food galore,
the very best in viddles
you can be sure.
These are her parents,
this love of my life,
I ask them if I could marry her,
then I made her my wife.
We spent our Honeymoon
in this little cabin at the foot of the hill,
she was my whole life then
and to this day is still.
We were blessed with two children,
Dana Lea and Tereasa Lynn,
what wonderful years the
past have been!
We grew up in this little town in Missouri
and boy the stories we can tell,
such as spending the week ends with
my Grandma at the old county jail.
or walking the square on
a saturday night or cruising
in a car, if we were lucky we might!
I graduated from Nevada High
in 1965 and shortly there after
Uncle Sams greeting did arrive.,
They said it's a two year vacation,
with all expenses paid
never mentioning all the rules
they had already made.
Now, I'm an old man with
my share of aches and pain.
And to keep from being
an obnoxious grump, I'm realy trying
to refrain!
But I will tell it to
you like this, I have spent
"my time" and I have "paid my dues"
so now my friend , it's your turn
to sing the blues.
