A Brief History of my RP days

I started playing RPG (Role Playing Game)at the age of ...14.
One day I walked down the streets and passed by a shop (which might be
weird to you guys who are not living in Hong Kong as that shop sold
not only stationery stuffs but computer software - illegal copies of course.)
I bought a game there called "Wizardry 7 - Crusaders of the
Dark Savant" which is a fantasty RPG.

The "box" of the game, though
I do not have it.

( Wizardry 8 is comming, but I really doubt if
it would be avaliable in Hong Kong... )

It was pretty hard for me to start in the beginning.  Most
teeners  in Hong Kong at that time and even now can read/write/
speak/understand English very poorly  (though I was not as poor
as most others)  And you will never understand how difficult it is
if you are to play a game in a foreign language (especially
when you have to go through a thick player's guide...)

After a couple of years' playing somehow I finished the game.
(with a little help from a friend of mine who got the hints) It was
a bit difficult to play, but once I got the general idea I began to
enjoy the game - To watch the players "grow", to interact with
those A.I. NPCs (Non-Player-Characters) who would respond
"Same to you" if you say foul things to them . 8)    I got addicted
to this kind of game and tried others like Menzoberranzan
(This time an AD&D computer game) and many others.

Then I  joined the Hong Kong WarGame Club and had a taste
of RPing with other people.  At first I was puzzled.... What the hell
were those guys doing with those funny-looking dices? And if they
were RPing, why it seems that they need almost NOTHING
except those dices, pencils and papers?   I found the answer
myself later - No matter how many handbooks/maps...etc
you have, no matter how high the level of your character is,
if you lack the will to IMAGINE and to interact with other players,
you will never have fun.

The sketch of my  **very first** character
in a quest with an AD&D Planescape back-
ground. The work is about...6 years old
( I was about 16 when I drew that. )  The
character, Marcus (Just a randomly picked
name), was a swordsman who wore a suit of
funny-looking armor made of crystal and bore
a sword also made of crystal.  (Though he was
just a level one charater when the game
began....)

2 really silly cartoon about the character which
were used to help explaining what the character
is about to the DMs.

Alright if I am to tell it all here I 'm sure you will all
be bored to death.... Now I still RP with other people
but in a quite different way. Though Yahoo chat sucks
I just like being there, RPing with lots of people like me.
I began in the area "Teens" but now I prefer A&E
(Arts and Enetertainiment) 'cuz people play flavor there.
