STEREO VIEWERS
Stereo pic need stereo viewers. In fact it's a simple device: 2 lenses
(for the eyes) a place to put the stereo-pic in front of the lenses and
focus by moving the pic back and forth. some viewers were fancy and well
build (especialy the early ones). The later ones are simple and practical
made.
A fancy BREWSTER'S STEREOSCOPE viewer
1850-60
The eary BREWSTER'S type stereoviewers
had fixed lenses thus had fixed focus. Later models had a focusind device
or mechanism. An opening door at the top of the viewer had a mirror, allowing
the light to fall on the slide/view inside the viewer, to support viewing
transparent views.

(An Italian guide to Jerusalem) I found that viewer in a shop not far from
the Holy Sepulchre in Old Jerusalem. The text is in Old Russian (before
the revolution of 1917) saying: "BLESSINGS FROM THE GRAVE,
GOLGOTHA HILL, JERUSALEM"
