Journeys are wonderful because...

Journeys are wonderful because...
You sit on a train and you're travelling past fields and trees.
You think of the people you're going to see.
You think of the things you're going to do.
Perhaps you'll meet up with someone you haven't seen in ages.
Perhaps you'll enjoy it, perhaps you won't.
You don't know if you'll stay a day or a week.
You might go to Horsham, Worthing or London.
Leo in Godalming, Pants in Rudgewick.
Lidya in Oxted, Elanor in Tunbridge.
Will you get drunk, will you get stoned?
Will you have a party or spend the day outdoors?
All these thoughts you have on your journey.
It's a time of excitement and imagination.
It's a peaceful time, a time spent in limbo, preparing for the adventure ahead.
This is why journeys are wonderful.
