Frozen Teardrops

Frozen teardrops drip from her eyes,
As out in the rain she cries and she cries.
Dropping to her knees like a mourner in prayer,
She lifts her arms to the Heavens in relief and despair.
Frozen teardrops run down her cheeks,
The icy-cold warmth brings the comfort she seeks.
Lightning flashes, lighting the scene,
A brief ray of hope in the dark that had been.
Frozen teardrops melt and are gone,
A life of fear has at last moved on.
She gets to her feet with an easy grace,
A beautiful smile touching her face.
