Seco Mines Elementary
Statements
of Philosophy
The purpose of the educational process at Seco Mines is to provide the students with a general education in all academic subjects to prepare them for Junior High School, to motivate the students to stay in school and to inform the community of the school's activities. It is further the philosophy of this school that the responsibility of the community to the school is to cooperate with school policies and programs.
The common concern of the school is to better prepare the students for the future. The school will also seek to ensure each student's personal growth and attainment of goals. Teachers will instill in students the curiosity of answering questions on their own, encouraging creative thinking.
The school believes that the relationship desired between students should be one of mutual respect. Students need to feel free to express their ideas or concerns to teachers and establish rapport with them. This same relationship should exist between teacher and the administration, who in turn will serve as a mediator between the staff and community and as a representative of the school.
