" Chocolate is just as much a food group for women as Beer is to men."
Look at someone who is crying and somewhere else, someone else is eating chocolate for the same reasons. We cry tears of joy we bring out children into the world and when we celebrate various rites of passage, like weddings and bar mitzvahs. Sometimes we cry because the home team just won. We shed tears of rage as our break when a loved one dies. We wail about injustice when a coward's bomb detroys a child's daycare, and with it, our hope for the future. Tears mar the shiny surface of our baby blue prom dresses when we realized that we have been stood up. Again.
And when the tears stop, we reach for the bowl of M&M's and the double fudge ripple chocolate cake. We happily nosh on the ears of defenseless little chocolate bunnies to celebrate spring. We inhale little red and green foil covered Kiss's every Christmas. We treat ourselves to chocolate-chip cheescake when we accomplish something we feel is important. Sometimes we just sit back on the couch and let a small sliver of a chocolate melt on our tongues and realize that it's going to be okay.
Look at someone who is enjoying that little sliver of chocolate and when you do it's okay to cry.
Life goes on.
