JavaScript is a scripting language for web pages. It can be embedded into your existing HTML pages to enhance and add an interesting element to them.
Do not confuse JavaScript and Java. Java is a programming language while JavaScript is a scripting language. Real programs are created with Java but with JavaScript, the user needn't worry about programming - just copy and paste the text into your HTML file.
JavaScript is usually guaranteed to work with most of the latest browsers. I would recommend Internet Explorer 3.0 or Netscape Navigator 2.x, 3.0 or 4.0 for the JavaScript on this page. Internet Explorer 2.x, Mosaic, Procomm Plus, AOL Browser and others have mixed results.
Soon to come - return quickly.
