There's A Papapapapapaparty Going On...

Check it out, yo, I've been updated!! Yep, my real name is Thor. I am male if you can't tell by the picture :-), and I am 20. I currently have red/brown sort of two-tone thing, am 5' 10", size 11 shoe and other characteristics...Originally (and always at heart) from Boston, MA...I will be attending Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois...then transferring to the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana. Starting with music...I love it more than anything else in the world. Nothing satisfies like music. I enjoy composing music, pursuing a style which I have hoped to do for a while, which involves sound-scapes, lots of space (or ambience), slow, droning chords, and basic envelopment in sound. All based more on MOOD then MELODY, though melody is definitely an element (sometimes).

If you opened a window (outside the city) and added a bit more reverb to what was going on and more electronic and organic sound, with dissonant melodies here and there through this you'd get an idea of the music I write. Very tense stuff as my friend Kristyn would say. My 4-track is up and running, therefore my output of music has been the highest it's been ever, and the material is more satisfying, more concentration on voice processing, morphing drones, and delicate but harrowing melodies (sometimes). For composers, I love Philip Glass, Wendy Carlos and Michael Nyman. As far as "classical" music is concerned, they are it. Genius stuff. What's been in my changer lately: Starflyer 59, Curious Ritual, Faust, Flying Saucer Attack, Siddal (the new EP IS simply AMAZING!!!), The Creatures, Mors Syphilitica, Stereolab, Windy & Carl (will they ever leave :), Flowchart, Kylie Minogue, High Llamas, Cocteau Twins, Orange Cake Mix, Komeda, Yoko Ono, Fuxa, Pizzicato Five (latest favorite)... Probably lots more, I just remember these at the moment! Oh yeah, Indie rock, ambient, progressive, and gothic/darkwave music rule! I'd love to tell you about all the music I like, but let the CD list link on this page do it for me, PLEEASE! :-) I also like movies a lot, Female Perversions is my all-time favorite (it's on video now!!!) I also like B-movies quite a bit, as well as art-house and just good old commerical comedies and action films. Favorites include: Suspiria, Terror At The Opera, Where The Boys Are '84, Assault of the Killer Bimbos, Straight Talk, A Clockwork Orange, Koyaanisqatsi, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, all the Nightmare on Elm Street's, Dawn of the Dead, Evil Dead II, The Nutty Professor (Eddie Murphy version), Orlando, Kundun, Rosemary's Baby, The Exorcist, The Shining, My Chauffeur, If Looks Could Kill...again list goes on. I love watching Comedy Central, it is the best channel ever. Space Ghost (on Cartoon Network) is also a favorite. I still love NickToons...other things that interest me, people lots of people, I love people that are genuine too, introspective thinking people (sounds cliched i know, but it's true!) Eating...food!! Tiramisu and Baklava (oh baby!!), also nighttime, Cafe Kopi, serious thought (which I feel I might be spending too much time with at the moment), also letting loose and having fun by going out and talking (yes it is fun!), or dancing at clubs, or being silly. Hell what about Meijer, Steak 'n' Shake and other 24-hour establishments!!! Huh, huh?!?! It's all good (overused but speaks volumes)...I like other things too but I can't think of them at the moment because I am put on the spot. BLAHH!!! But that's ok...oh yeah. feel free to email. Hey tell me what you like, don't like, etc. about the page, or just say hi. It's fun and easy. Well....i am done for now. Until next time, i will be fallin in la-love with all the gggggirls at the papapapapapapaparty.
