Hello, my name is Ronda Russell. I was a senior at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD, but I graduated on June 4, 1997. You can visit Eleanor Roosevelt on the web at The Eleanor Roosevelt Home Page.I'm now in my third year at the University of Maryland, College Park and I'm majoring in chemical engineering. My high school resume is available for anyone interested in viewing it.

This page was created mostly by me. In March 1997 I made my first webpage, a page dedicated to the architect Gordon Bunshaft, as a project for my architectural drafting class. My brother and I then thought it would be great to create our own personal webpage. I do all the technical stuff like writing the HTML and finding links and pictures, etc. and he tells me what to put on it. But enough about him.

My favorite things in the whole world are horses. I used to ride (English) at Reddemeade stables in Fulton, Maryland, but it took 45 minutes to get there. My favorite horse was Loretta, a young, black, Thoroughbred mare that was quick and eager to take any jump that I set her to. She was fast, and enjoyed galloping through the fields, which made her my ideal horse. During the cross country portion of the last horse trial I competed in, she flew so fast I never felt any of the jumps. People who have never ridden horses should try it at least once, because I can tell you there is nothing close to the feeling of flying over a 5 foot high oxer on the back of a horse that is galloping at full speed through a field. In the eleventh and twelth grade I found that I just didn't have the time to ride anymore, and since riding takes a lot of time and concentration, I had to quit. I hope one day to own a horse of my own that I can compete at small trials and hunter-jumper shows. Click here for some great horse sites on the web.

My favorite music is Alternative, but I listen to a lot of different things. My favorite group is by far Offspring, and Everclear runs second. I've seen both of them in concert, as well as Orgy, Local H, Veruca Salt, Our Lady Peace, Verve Pipe, Tonic, K's Choice, Letters to Cleo, and Living End. I was also at the 1999 HFStival, where I saw Offspring, Living End, Orgy, Sugarray, Live, Blink 182, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Goo Goo Dolls, Lit, And Silverchair. Some other music I like is classical and movie soundtracks (That sounds like a weird combination, Alternative and Instrumentals, but whatever). My favorite composer is Danny Elfman. He has done the music for a HUGE number of popular movies, including Batman, Batman Returns, Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Men in Black, Scrooged, Good Will Hunting, Edward Scissorhands, and the Simpsons theme music. Check out all the music he's done on the Internet Movie Database, he's absolutely amazing.

On July 8, 1997 I turned 18. I wasn't that excited, but I had a really fun day. My mom and I had planned a trip to Delaware Park (a horse racing track) because we wanted to see the steeplechase races that had been planned for that day. When we got there we found that there weren't enough horses to fill the racing card, so the two races had been cancelled. But we stuck around and since I was 18 I got to place my first bets on the races. I've been to the Preakness the past two years, but I always had to tell my mom who to bet on and gave her my money. (For all those uninformed people the Preakness is the second race in the Triple Crown and is run in Baltimore on Pimlico Race Track. The Triple Crown is like the World Series of horse racing.) But anyway, to end my birthday story, I bet $12 on various races and came home with only $10. Atleast I didn't lose all $12!!!!!!!

My ex-boyfriend's name is Steve. We used to go out a lot on weeknights with his friends and alone, and he's a pretty great guy. His friends are OK, except when they knock on my bedroom window at 1:00 in the morning and scare my mother and I half to death.

I work at at for the Campus Recreation Services at the Reckord Armory on campus. I work the front desk of the Intramural Sports office, mostly the late night closing shifts. I have about 2 customers in a 3 hour shift, so I get lots of homework done. For the summer I'm also working at Ritchie Coliseum. I have a lot of opening shifts, which means I'm there at 5:45am. It sucks, but I'm getting paid. I've been helping some of my co-workers make pages, like Lauren

I'm not sure what else I can say about myself, so I think I'll just make some links to my favorite pages. I'll explain some of them so you don't think I'm totally insane.

Batman-Superman Page
I absolutely LOVE the new Batman Animated shows. I hate Superman, but Batman kicks ass. I'm up every Saturday at 8am to watch Batman, and I watch him every afternoon too!!

Guitar Tabs
My brother's teaching me to play the guitar, and this is the page I go to to get tabs. I'm learning lots of Everclear, Offspring, and Green Day.

Internet Movie Database
This is one of my favorites because I always watch movies and can't remember where I've seen the actors before. So I use this a lot.

Scour
The best place to find MP3's on the net. They're illegal, so it's your choice
