This used to be my playground.
This used to be my childhood dream.
This used to be the place I ran to.
Whenever I was in need, of a friend.
Why did it have to end?
And why do they always say?

Don't look back.
Keep your head held high.
Don't ask they why.
Because, life is short,
And before you know,
You're feeling old,
And your heart is breaking.

Don't hold onto the past.
Well, that's too much to ask.

This used to be my playground.
This used to be my childhood dream.
This used to be the place I ran to.
Whenever I was in need, of a friend.
Why did it have to end?
And why do they always say?

No regrets.
But I wish that you,
Were here with me.
Well then, there's hope yet.
I can see your face in our secret place.
You're not just a memory.

Say goodbye to yesterday,
Those are words I'll never say.

This used to be my playground.
This used to be our pride and joy.
This used to be the place we ran to.
That no one in the world could dare destroy.

This used to be our playground.
This used to be our childhood dream.
This used to be the place we ran to.
I wish you were standing here with me.

This used to be our playground.
This used to be our childhood dream.
This used to be the place we ran to.
The best things in life are always free.

Wishing you were here with me.

I gotta tell yah that we were a pair of crazies!!! Anywhere from hiding in that big old oak tree way up high on Halloween nights....in the dark of the night....howling at all passerbys....and scaring the little kids who were trick or treating...from planting "war" gardens the my parents' backyard. Yup...we were inseparable growing up. People used to say to me I had the "nicest brother" and .. well, I never bothered to correct them!!!! He was a piano man for sure at that and used to play in my band when we were 17...fake ID's included...*laugh*. Jay's most favorite saying I quote to this day is "there are gold ships and there are silver ships....but there's NO SHIP like friendship!! And, of course, he was always right!!! We used to go to our elementary school playground all the time and I'd just swing on the swings until the sun went down. Not to mention the beach!!!! All the trips to Key West and all the fun!!!
A song Jay dedicated to me on my 16th birthday, aside from carrying around this HUGE BLUE TEDDY BEAR WITH BALLOONS in high school, no less... Well, was none other than Elton John's Tiny Dancer... Just cause he was the coolest Bro!! Hence, Tiny Dancer became my CB (citizen's band radio) handle here in South Florida and I'm still known by this "nick" even after about 20 years!!! Jay's been my inspiration and motivation for most of my life and I guess he will always be so........

HERE'S TO YOU MY BROTHER......and if you were still here today, I know you'd love all the work I'm doing on my website too!!!! *hugs & kisses*

In loving memory...September 20, 1958 to February 13, 1989........

Well...I am making some progress here.....if I did this right...you should be listening to a midi of the song by Madonna entitled..."This Used To Be My Playground". Befitting for my brother and me. I have also provided a blank space...cause when I find his pix....in my photo albums in my attic, I will definately scan it and place it there. So, I am holding a space for him!!!Keep checking back from time to time to see the monster I am creating!!! *rolling on the floor laughing now*
