Latest News and Updates

Well, I wrote www.wescraven.com about the 3rd killer theory. They told me "No, no third killer!" I guess there really wasn't a third killer...Or was there........?????

In Scream II, the phrase "Sequels suck!" is mentioned 8 or 9 times.

The film will be released either December 12th, or January 9th, depending on how the test screenings go.

According to Wes Craven's official site, Scream II may indeed make it's December 12th release. It is now up to Miramax to decide...

Update: I have recently asked Wes about the trailer for "Scream II", and here is what he told me: The movie trailer for SCREAM2 should be coming soon. First there will be a 'Teaser' trailer coming on Pay per View TV. That should be out within a week. I personally haven't yet seen a theatrical trailer. Release date is still December 12, so it's a bit early. The movie trailer was shown on Pay Per View yesterday.

Update October 8, 1997: Some GREAT NEWS! The film's teaser trailer will begin airing in US theatres this Friday (Oct. 10th), and the first Televison advertisement will be during "The X-Files" season premiere on November 2, 1997. Miramax is getting right behind the film with a $20 million promotional campaign (the original's was $10 million), and is trying to beat other holiday films by opening on 3,000 screens. Bob Weinstein (co-chairman of Miramax) did a survey, checking to see what percentage of audience members were both aware of the coming of "Scream II" and intended to see it. Compared to other films, "Scream II" beat every other picture coming out during the Christmas holidays including "Tomorrow Never Dies" & "Titanic".

Update October 10, 1997: MORE great news! The Scream II Trailer was shown during the October 9th edition of Entertainment Tonight. I was lucky enough to have my VCR ready. It was pretty good, but you couldn't see much because it went SO fast.

Update: October 18, 1997: The December 12th date has been confirmed! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Now, we just have to wait a few more months!

Update: October 19,1997: The trailer for Scream II has FINALLY arrived! Enjoy. This trailer is a bit smaller (in download size), but looks just as good as the other one, and it even comes in AVI format. IT is just as good, if not BETTER than the other one. Hold shift down when you click it to download.

Update: October 26th, 1997: The early draft of the script was spotted across the net. I guess someone is trying to ruin it for everyone. Wes Craven confirmed that this was just an early draft and that the ending was changed. I did have the link posted, but it is gone now.

Update: October 28th, 1997: The script was deleted from the page that had it up. Oh well. It was a MAJOR spoiler.

Update: November 5th, 1997: The new movie poster for Scream II is now available in the pics section. Check it out.

Update: November 16th, 1997: Sorry about the absence of updates. No news about Scream II for a while. I'm really aggrivated at that STUPID counter too! It reset a day or 2 ago. If it didn't, it should have hit 2,000 in a short time. That sucks....Oh well. If I hear anything, I'll post it.

Update: November 18th, 1997: A new trailer has been released and spotted on television. If you haven't seen it, here is the description:"It starts with Sid (Neve Campbell) answering the phone sounding exactly the same as in 'Scream'. Then the voice on the phone says "Hello Sidney. Remember me? It's time girlfriend", Then the voiceover says, "Someone has taken their love of sequels one step too far." Next comes the flash of the various suspects, and a few new shots of Father Death (including: Him smashing his hand through the window in "Stab", jumping out of a window at Casey, wrestling someone to the ground). Finally comes a few shots of Gale, some spotlights falling and Randy on a cell phone mocking the killer.

Update: November 19th, 1997: The new trailer, mentioned above, was shown last night during Star Trek: Generations on FOX. I caught the last half of it on a commercial break.

Update: December 5th, 1997: Only 1 week left to wait! Also, bad news for U.K. Scream II fans. Ac spokesperson at Buena Vista International has confirmed recent rumours that the UK release date of the sequel is in fact May 1st, 1998. On the upside, she said this was not final and depending upon it's success in the US the date could be moved forward. Australian fans will be happy to know that the film's release has been pushed up from January 22nd to January 15th.

Update: December 7th, 1997: Only 5 days left to wait! Also, here is a review that I got from Dark Horizons: "Just back from a midnight "world premiere" (of the paying audience variety) screening of SCREAM 2, and let me tell you, *this is one scaaaaarrry movie!* It improves upon Part 1 by leaps and bounds, and there was not a soul in the audience who didn't get scared *repeatedly*. There were a handful of people who even walked out, they were just too scared!. Every aspect of the movie delivers, big-time, too. It should be a huge hit!"

RUMOR: Someone wrote me today and informed me that another amateur Scream sequel is on the way and it will be very good. The special effects are supposed to be realistic and the storyline will be spellbounding. I don't know if this is true or not, but it is very interesting. So, all of you amateur film freaks get ready.

Update: December 8th, 1997: Only 4 days left to wait! YESSSSSSSS!!!! Oh yeah, the people of "Scream Louder" (the ameteur filmed sequel to Scream) and I may be putting together a contest VERY soon. Hopefully. Also, here is two good links to two very good sites:

Update: December 13th, 1997: Hi everyone! I just got back from the theatres and guess what I watched....SCREAM II!!!!!! It was AWESOME!!! I think that it is A LOT better than the first film. I stayed at the edge of my seat the entire time. The film just took my breath away. I hope everyone else enjoys it as much as I did.

Update: December 15th, 1997: Scream II raked in $39.2 million dollars over the weekend, making it one of the highest 3 day openers.

Update: December 20th, 1997: Well, all of you that haven't seen Scream II yet should. It is very good. I know that some of you live in other countries and don't get to see it until 1998. It is WELL worth the wait. Believe me. Scream has been out for 8 days and it is now getting competition with the new movie 'Titanic', which opened yesterday. Also, only 5 days until Christmas.(For those who celebrate it.)

Update: December 23rd, 1997: Scream II still stayed in at the top this week making $14 million, putting it in 3rd place. Above it were, Tommorrow Never Dies (In 2nd), and Titanic (In 1st). Have a merry Christmas everyone and a happy new year. I'm also going to make a Scream III section very soon with rumors and information on the upcoming sequel.

Update: December 31st, 1997: Special New Year's Eve Edition I'm back to have some news about Scream III. WEll, it seems that there WILL DEFINITELY be a Scream III for sure. Every show across America says so anyway. The only question is...."Will everyone that survived be in it?" Neve Cambell reported that she may not be back as the 'Scream Queen'. She said if another movie offer came along in the next three months, then she probably wouldn't take the role of Sidney Prescott again. More than likely, it is because of Party of Five. That would suck! (Sidney has been through SO much, the next Scream will probably take place in a mental institution.) Courtney Cox seemed to enjoy the role of Gale Weathers, so she will probably be back. David Arquette, the long surviving Dewey, will hopefully be in it. (If he can walk this time.) Let's just keep our fingers crossed because I think we have a while to wait. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!! If you're a fan of Titanic go to watch the movie. You'll definitely get your money's worth. Also, I added a new SUSPECTS PAGE.

Update: January 3rd, 1998: Here is some new news about Scream 3 from Dark Horizons:

For once, an agent has done something for the benefit of mankind, they've helped to deliver this scoop about "Scream 3". After a lot of digging for a client, he's heard that the plot of the film apparently involves Sidney deciding to leave college and directing her pain into an acting career. Guess what her first role is? Starring in a cheesy horror movie of all things. He also says expect the trademark 'first killing' to be a female celeb (probably playing herself) who was to star in the film and who's character will be replaced by Sidney (My vote goes for Alicia Silverstone to be the celeb).

Update: January 20th, 1998: Well, I straightened everything out now and this page will stay online for quite some time now. Thanks to all of the nice comments everyone has sent in.

Update: Febuary 14th, 1998: Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Hope you had a nice one. Some people report that Scream 3 should be out before Spring of 1999. (Hopefully earlier.) And for all of you I Know What You Did Last Summer fans, expect the sequel to be out sometime around November of 98'. (That is, if everything goes according to plan.) Scream 3 and IKWYDLS2 should be a blast. I don't want them to wear these films out though....

Update: April 8th, 1998: Not much news again. Scream 2 will be released on video June 9th and I've also updated the Scream III game.
