Mint Melt-A-Ways
 
Here is what you'll need:

2 & 1/2 Cups Powdered sugar
1/4 Cup butter (softened)
1/8 Teaspoon peppermint extract (add more to taste)
1- 4 Tablespoon Milk
*Note: add the milk 1 tablespoon at a time - until mixture comes together to form a ball

3 Drops red or green food color
*optional - chocolate chips  (see below)
Line cookie sheets with waxed paper.
In a small bowl combine all ingredients; blend well (use a hand mixer for best results).  Knead until smooth.

You have two options at this point:
1.  Put candy onto waxed paper and roll out to 1/4 inch thickness, then freeze for 5 minutes (for easier handling).  Cut with 1 inch or any small cookie cutter; place on waxed paper lined cookie sheets; cover and refrigerate until firm.

2.  Form candy into small 1 inch balls; place onto waxed paper lined cookie sheet; slightly flatten balls.   Drizzle with melted chocolate, or garnish with nuts.
Refigerate until firm.

*Take chocolate chips and put them into a plastic baggie, close and microwave until melted; snip off end of baggie and drizzle over candies.
