Pecan Pie Bars


1&1/4 Cups all purpose flour
3 Tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 Cup butter (no substitute)
2 Eggs
1/2 Cup packed brown sugar
3/4 Cup chopped pecans
1/2 Cup light corn syrup
2 Tablespoons Butter, melted
1 Teaspoon vanilla

*Combine: Flour and the 3 tablespoons brown sugar.  Cut in the 1/2 cup butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.  Pat into an ungreased 11x7x1&1/2 - inch baking pan.  Bake at 375 degree oven for 20 minutes.

*Meanwhile: beat the eggs with a fork. Stir in the 1/2 cup brown sugar, pecans, corn syrup, melted butter and vanilla.  Pour over the baked crust, spread evenly.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes more - until set.

Cool.  Cut into bars.  Chill to store.  Makes 24 bars.
