"WHO IS Claudette?"

Thank you for visiting me . My name is Claudette. I am a mother and I am also a grandmother, a fact that I am very proud of. My sons are now grown and they are my heart, my love for them beyond description. They are my greatest accomplishment in this life and they are the greatest gift God could have ever given me.

I work in the Administration Personnel Department of a company and I live in a small town in Florida, the same town where I was born and raised. I was fortunate enough to have traveled for almost 20 years of my life and experienced new cultures, lived in different cities, and met some of the most wonderful people along my journey.

I was born in the middle of a September night, in a humble wooden house in the country. I was raised for the first part of my life in that same house, on a small farm. Life was tough, but living that kind of life made you appreciate the simple things in life, and has developed the kind of person I am today. A person who gets sentimental and misty eyed over the simpliest little things. A person who laughs easily at herself, loves hearing the laughter of others, and seeing a smile that perhaps I have contributed to.

I can remember as if yesterday, the feel of the morning dew on my feet, following closely behind my grandfather, as we gathered eggs for the morning breakfast. A little girl with long wavy hair, a big smile, with a bit of mischief shining in my eyes, dipping small fingers into fresh cream and as I thought no one watched, licked my fingers with delight.

I remember the feel of the air in the fall, as I listened to the crickets in the night, looking up at all the stars and thinking of all the dreams I harbored deep within. Those safe feelings I felt as I sat on the front porch, during a summer thunderstorm, covering up with an old home made quilt, looking at flashes of lightening, hearing the roars of thunder, and watching the big raindrops fall. The feel of the "cold, frigid water", where I would walk to swim in the place called.. "The Swimming Hole".. after picking peas in the steamy summer heat. Recollections of lying in soft summer grass with my hands behind my head, looking up into the vast blue sky, and making images out of the billowing white clouds. The sound of children's laughter as my brother, sister, and I played until the setting of the sun. Our sweet, innocent minds, pure and untouched by the rest of the world.

These memories are "special" ones from the "Eyes of a child", yet they are my memories and shall remain "just mine" for as long as I shall live.

I am a country girl at heart, and that heart can be melted by the simpliest phrase of
..."Mom, I love you"... from one of my sons.

I value the "small things in life", those precious moments that once faded can never be recaptured, except in our memories, and I hold dear, those special memories, that are now placed in my heart and in my mind.

From the heart..... Claudette
