Throughout history, vampire lore of some kind or another has shown up in every culture in the world. Why? I won't even begin to tackle that question, though I have my opinions. Suffice to say that a combination of superstitions, ignorance, and human nature certainly play critical roles.
That can explain history. What makes vampires so popular still? Perhaps it's the romantic nature in which they are portrayed. Unlike most supposedly evil creatures, vampires are often thought of as attractive and seductive. The implications of evil swept aside by a smoldering look or a passionate embrace.
Whatever the reasons, it looks like vampires are here to stay. Speaking for myself, I'm glad!
I don't know why, but I've always had an interest in vampires. I can remember being just a little child, staying up late because there was a vampire movie I wanted to see. Over the years, the interest grew. I've collected literally hundreds of vampire books. My high school term paper was even about vampire lore. Since vampires have been such a big part of my life, any page I put together would not be complete without a vampire section.
This page is still under construction. I'm hoping to add a gallery of my favorite vampire pictures. Also, I'm thinking of a page discussing my favorite vampire books, movies, and music. Please bear with me until then...
