The Corr's Biography

The Corrs, all in thier 20's, grew up in Dundalk in Ireland's County Louth, which lies 50 miles north of Dublin--smack on the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland. In typical Irish clan fashion, each member plays, sings, writes, and generally throws stardust into the family pot. Since expanding thier bonds from family to band in 1990, things have happened quickly for The Corrs. The group had only been together briefly when they met thier soon-to-be manager, John Hughes, who was assembling musicians for Alan Parker's film, "The Commitments." A friendship was struck and the band drew an inivation to perform in Dublin as part of a special Commitments live concert. As luck would have it, U.S. Ambassador to Ireland Jean Kennedy Smith heard The Corrs play at a small club in Dublin and invited them to America to play at the World Cup celebration in Boston. Still unsigned, the band seized the opportunity to meet with U.S. labels. Captivated by the group, Atlantic Senior Vice President Jason Flom suggested in turn they meet with Atlantic Vice President and producer David Foster. On thier last day in New York City, The Corrs arrived at the studio unannounced. Foster then invited them in to play for him. It wasn't long after that, that the Corrs were offical Atlantic Group Artists.

The Corr's debut album, "Forgiven, Not Forgotten" was released in 1995, and has sold over 2,000,000 copies in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and the U.S. The Corrs second album, "Talk On Corners", was released November 20, 1997. As of February 11, 1998..."Talk On Corners" offically sold over 1,000,000 copies in the UK, New Zealand, and Australia! Keep in mind that this does not include the U.S.! Unfortunatally, the second album will not be available in the U.S. and Canada until May 5, 1998.

The Corrs are no strangers to the movie and television industry. Including thier first film, "The Commitments", Andrea corr has played a bit part in the movie "Evita" starring Madonna. Here, Andrea plays a young girl that was kicked out of bed...by Madonna! The Corrs have also made appearance's on Beverly Hills 90210, Late Night with Conan O'Brian, and Good Morning America.

Each member can play the piano. Jim also plays the guitar, Sharon plays the violin, Caroline plays the drums, and Andrea plays the tin whistle. Andrea is also the lead singer while her siblings are back-ups.

Now, if you were wondering how old they all are, I am giving you thier bithdays! As I said earlier, they all are in thier 20's! Jim was born on 31/07/68. Sharon was born on 24/03/70. Caroline was born on 17/03/75, Andrea was born on 17/05/74.
