Roller Coaster Tycoon: Reviewed

I have recently bought the game, and have spent the last few days playing it, this I think, qualifies me to pass comment on the game and its pitfalls. When the game first starts, you have the option of taking the somewhat tedious tutorial, or chose from one of the available scenarios, (About for are available when you first load the game). Each scenario has its own separate objectives to complete in the given amount of time. I would recommend starting on either Dynamite Dunes or Forest Frontiers. The game layout is quite good, and easy to learn all the controls. My advice would be to start small, don't build to much too soon. Money is the greatest challenge in the game, it is very easy to loose track of your finances when you get carried away building that perfect roller coaster. The main sources of income are from your gate takings and those takings received from your rides and stalls/shops. If you find yourself tragically short of money, then you could try one of the cheats on my pc game codes page

However, those cheats only work on some versions of the game, and it is sod's law that my game is the version that the cheats don't work. if you think that you know of a cheat that might work, then please either leave a message on my message board or e-mail me; chris@chopkins13.fsnet.co.uk Also, if you have a review of this game, or any game for the pc, then send to it to me, and I will stick it on my page, acknowledging you.

All in all, I think that Chris Sawyer did a good job of designing Roller Coaster Tycoon, a good strategy game, but lacking in two area's. These are the fact that it is very difficult to get started and make enough money to survive. Secondly, the game has no speed setting option, which means that the game runs at the same tedious speed all the time.

If you own the game, I would recommend that you visit the Roller Coaster Tycoon web site. it is full of add-ons and other peoples track designs, as well as having regular categorized competitions for you to enter.
