Angels Among Us

Listen to Your Angel

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

My Ten Angels

Ten angels walk beside me,
each and every day.
Ten angels help to guide me,
to give comfort and protect.
They have been my companions
since I was very young.

Now you may ask me,
why Ten?
Do you think you are special?
Why not one, or two, or three?
Why Ten?
Surely you don't need so many?

Well, each and every angel
has a special job to do.
Yes, it seems even angels,
specialize.

All of us know Faith,
Hope, and Charity.
They are wonderful angels,
and ALL so overworked.
But there are seven more you see,
and each and every one
gives comfort and protects.

The Fourth angel,
is the angel I call TOLERANCE.
Whom I fear we do not
use enough, for if we did,
there would not be
any BIGOTRY, OR HATE.

The next angel,
is the one I call FORGIVENESS,
who is under utilized as well.
Who among us could not do
with more FORGIVENESS in our hearts.

Then we have the angel
I call BEAUTY. We all see so much ugliness in life,
I don't know a single soul,
who couldn't do with
more BEAUTY in their life.

The next two angels,
are the twins I call JOY and HAPPINESS.
They are most often seen
walking hand and hand.

My favorite angel
is the one I call FRIEND.
This little angel, is the one
who can bring real riches to our lives.
I have often heard her saying,
"To have a friend, one must first be a friend."
And do you know,
it WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And last but in no way least,
is the angel I call, LOVE.

Sometimes she seems so shy,
and it seems like she is sleeping.
But she is always near.
If we would only open up our hearts.
and just see her standing there.
For if we did,
then all the other Angels
would be easier to see.

It is my belief that we all have
TEN ANGELS
walking beside us.
They are sent from God,
to see us through,
to guide, comfort and protect us
until the day we join HIM,
in the place we call HEAVEN.

The Man in the Glass

When you get what you want in your struggle for self,
And the world makes you king for a day,
Just go to the mirror and look at yourself,
And see what THAT man has to say.
For it isn't your father or mother
Whose judgment upon you must pass.
The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the one staring back from the glass.
Some people might think you're a straight shootin' chum
And call you a wonderful guy,
But the man in the glass says you're only a bum.
If you can't look him straight in the eye.
He's the fellow to please, never mind all the rest.
For he's with you clear up to the end.
And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test
If the guy in the glass is your friend.
You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years,
And get pats on the back as you pass.
But your final reward will be heartaches and tears
If you've cheated the man in the glass.

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is a beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.

Life is life, fight for it!

Hands to Hands

From our first breath until our last
we're touched by many hands.
They help us pass through various
and often wondrous lands.

They guide us, teach, offer support
when we have lost our way.
They share our pain, our joy and love
as we walk our Path each day.

When we reach out to find our hands
are met with others sharing,
we learn that we can pass this on;
increase the bond of caring.

From our first breath it's mother's hand
which holds us warm and near,
from there it's teachers, lovers, friends,
And when we breathe of our last breath
released from Earthly ties,
it's Spirit hands of Loved ones past
who hold ours as we fly.

After a While

After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contract
And presents aren't promises
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open,
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain. And futures have a way of falling down mid-flight.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden, and decorate your own soul,
instead of waiting for someone to bring flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong.

Everybody Knows:
You can't be all things to all people.
You can't do all things at once.
You can't do all things equally well.
You can't do all things better than everyone else.
Your humanity is showing just like everyone else's.

So:
You have to find out who you are, and be that.
You have to decide what comes first, and do that.
You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
You have to learn not to compete with others,
Because no one else is in the contest of *being you*

Then:
You will have learned to accept your own uniqueness.
You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
You will have learned to live with your limitations.
You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due.
And you'll be a most vital mortal.

That you are a wonderful, unique person.
That you are a once-in-all-history event.
That it's more than a right, it's your duty, to be who you are.
That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish.
And you'll be able to stay one up on what used to get you down.

Dreams

Dreams . . . what are they?
They are your soul talking to your heart . . .
leading you forward.

A dream . . .
is the carrot that leads the pony forward . . .
knowing it can reach its goal.

A dream tugs at your inner vision . . .
and you focus on it, in your heart,
and hold it there,
all the time knowing you're part of it.

A dream is the mirror that you walk into
and become one with it.

Dreams . . . they keep our spirit alive . . .
they move us forward in life . . .
with hope and wonder and promise.

Everyone has a dream.
Something special to them alone . . .
and this dream is filled with goodness/gladness
for them and for others.

Remember to be a part of this dream of yours . . .
it is not out of you . . . but a great part of you . . .
held within you.

Dreams are the wings of the butterflies . . .
that carry the caterpillar forward.
Have you ever seen multiple butterflies . . .
at the same time?
It is one of the most spectacular sights.
The strength and beauty cannot be
described as thousands of them take flight.

And as your dream joins with others . . .
the energies build . . . and your spirit flies free.

Dreams are as real to you,
as wings are to a caterpillar,
it takes time for them to unfold.

Keep your dreams alive,
nourish them with your Love . . .
and know that they are yours . . .
that they are just developing so that
when you are ready to fly . . .
that you will be carried by them.

Just remember
if you believe strongly enough in your dreams,
one day soon
they will come true....

Things Aren't Always What They Seem

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room. Instead the angels were given a space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.

When the younger angel asked, why? ...the older angel replied..."Things aren't always what they seem."

The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had, the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field.

The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel, "How could you have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you helped him," she accused. "The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let their cow die."

"Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel replied, again. "When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find it. Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave her the cow instead. Things aren't always what they seem."

Sometimes this is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You may not know it until some time later.

Teach Me Lord, How To Pray

Please teach me, Lord ...
I want to know
Exactly how to pray.
I need some words
Which ones are right?
Please tell me what to say.

I've bowed my head
I have knelt down,
But ... should I be upright?
I've closed my eyes,
I've raised my hands,
Or ... should I fold them tight?

Do I stand up?
Should I sit down?
Dear Lord ... what do you like?
Are lights turned on
Or are they off?
Maybe ... candle light?

Wear my glasses?
Take them off?
Be at my desk or table?
Should I whisper?
Speak out loud?
Do I quote the Bible?

What do you think
About the time?
Do You prefer the dawn?
Should I pray fast,
Or keep it slow?
Better short ... or long?

I'm new at this
What are the rules?
I want to do it right.
How do I know
You'll even hear
That I am in Your sight?

And while I sat there quietly,
Waiting for some sign,
I heard a gentle voice say,
"Oh, dearest child of mine ...
Do you think I really care
About the time of day,
Or whether you are standing up,
Or kneeling when you pray?"

"I don't care about your posture,
Or about the place you choose;
Just open up your soul to me,
I have no other rules.
Tell me what is in your heart,
And tell me what you seek;
Tell me of your sorrows,
And of those things that made you weak."

"Speak to me in private
About what concerns you most;
I know about your good deeds ...
You have no need to boast.
My child, you don't need lessons,
Just talk to me each day;
Tell me anything you want, dear child,
Anyone can pray."

SATAN YOU ARE A LIAR!
(Print this..post it where you will read it often...)

Tell the devil today, he is a liar!
He will not take your joy,
your peace or disturb your spirit!

Tell him he cannot sleep in your bed - there's not enough cover.

Tell him he cannot sit in your chair -
you will not give him a cushion of comfort!

Tell him he can't touch your body -
it's covered with the blood!

Tell him he cannot audit your finances -
you've changed accountants!

Tell him he cannot enter your home -
the lock's have been changed!

Tell him to leave your workplace -
he's not on your list of things to do for today!

Tell him to take his hands off your children -
because you've had hands laid on them!

Tell him you have no time for his nonsense, criticism or fears - you
are on a mission, and you walk by faith!

Tell him no more tears, heartaches, or headaches -
because there's another, He that restoreth your soul!

Tell him! Tell him! Tell him! Tell him!

Tell him, today, you have a gentle, powerful inner peace within,
it consumes you and leaves no room for confusion!

Tell him, today YOU WILL -
respond soothingly to a crying child,
a tense spouse, or an impatient friend.

Tell him, today, you will find no fault
with a relative, friend, or colleague.

Tell him to leave your tongue alone -
for today you will not talk of anyone,
before placing God at the beginning of your thought!

Tell him, wherever you are, God Is!

Tell him, God said, "My people will abide in a peaceful habitation . . . and in quiet resting places."
[Isaiah 32:18]

Today, Tell him he is a liar!!!

"I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!"
[John 16:33]

"Spirit Lift" by Deb (from Angels & Inspirations e-mail)

Spiritual Life

"As the years have passed, I'm totally convinced the most valuablepursuit I embarked on was that of knowing God"

Are You Growing Spiritually?

Do you ever wonder...

... if God really loves you?
... if he's given you any talents - and if so, what they are?
... if he cares about your daily problems?
... if you can trust his promises?
... if he'll ever use you to impact someone else's life, for him?
... if he's truly listening to your prayers?

All of us long to be intimate with God and grow in our walk with him.
We want strong relationships with family, friends, and the body of Christ -
all by-products of a strong spiritual life. But, let's face it - sometimes
we just feel stagnant in our spiritual growth. We're often frustrated in
growing closer to God because of interruptions and personal crisis,
difficult relationships, busyness, and even lack of discipline. Is it
possible to grow spiritually in spite of these daily hindrances?

Yes! ... for God promised us that "if... you seek the Lord your God,
you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with
all your soul"
[Deut. 4:29]

Pray Dangerously

Exciting things happen when you pray. So if you're bored with your
prayer life and wonder if God is really listening, try these dangerous
prayers of pastor Bill Hybels.

"Dear Lord, get me through today," Laura prayed silently as she
drove to work. "Please watch over my family. Help me complete
everything I need to do today."

Do you pray a quick prayer each morning - like Laura - for your family's
safety as you travel to the office? Or do you recite a prayer before your
breakfast or dinner? Do you tenderly tuck in your kids after you join
in their bedtime prayers or pray a long conversational prayer during
your morning devotions?

Each day we pray all kinds of prayers... from the safe or self-serving
to the risky and exciting. When was the last time you prayed a
"dangerous" prayer... a prayer that put your faith on the line and
opened you up to God in a way you've never done before?
God loves to hear dangerous prayers... the kind of prayers that help
us grow as Christians. Scripture is riddled with the prayers of believers
who wanted to mature in their Christian walk. If you have been keeping
God at a safe distance in your prayer life, try praying one of the following
"dangerous" prayers... and see how God in his wisdom will answer it:

SEARCH ME
How easy is it for us to feel righteous indignation at people who rebel
against God... and forget to ask God first if there is any rebellion in us.
Before we start getting agitated at the sins of others, we need to pray
this... "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my
anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me
in the way of everlasting"
[Ps. 139:23-24]

Upon the darkness of the midnight sky
lay a beautiful sight, for she's flying high
Where she came from nobody knows
She watches over even the loneliest souls

For this beauty that appears in the clouds up above
is the Angel in the sky and she flys like a dove
So soft and gentle she whispers in the wind
"I am the Angel in the Sky, and will watch over you"

Her guidance you will need, for your safety she will keep
Your every prayer she will hear if even in her splendid sleep
For God has sent this Angel so pure and so true
To help you through your moments without much ado

Has God sent this Angel just for you to see?
For up in the sky amongst the clouds there is she
She is your Angel in the Sky, never take for granted or foresake
What God has created, please make no mistake

Let her precious beauty be a lesson of all that is pure
For the good Lord knows who needs Him and that is for sure
He has sent this wonderus sight for you to behold
Keep her close in your heart, and your prayers she will hold

So my friends, take a look into the sky
is your Angel up there flying graciously and high?
For if she is, you will see all that she holds
and know that its you and you dreams that this dear lady beholds.

The Cold Within

Six humans were trapped by happenstance,
By bleak and bitter cold
each one possesses a sick of wood,
Or so the story’s told.

The dying fire in need of wood,
The first man held his back,
For of the faces round the fire,
He noticed one was black.

The next man looking round the fire,
saw one not of his church,
And couldn’t bring himself to give
The fire his stick of birch.

The third one sat in tattered clothes
And gave his coat a hitch,
Why should his log be used
To warm the idle rich.

The rich man sat back and thought
Of the wealth he had in store,
And how to keep what he had earned,
From the idle and the poor.

The black man’s face bespoke revenge
As the fire past his sight
For all he saw in his piece of wood
Was a chance to spite the white.

The last man of this forlorn group
Did naught except for gain
Giving only to those who gave to you
Was how he played the game.

Their logs held tight in death’s still hands
Was proof of human sin
They didn’t die of cold without
But died of cold within.

Carousel

Lord,
Each day of my life,
Like a carousel turns,
There are chances to take,
and lessons to learn.
Caught up in problems,
That each day would bring,
Chances slip by,
To catch the brass ring.
Whenever I felt my
ride slowing down,
Your gentle hand would
Push me around.
Picking me up,
each time that I fell
You rode beside me
on my carousel
