Baby-Sitting Tips
1. Dress and look neat for your job.

2. Don't snoop around the house.

3. Don't let any stranger into the house.

4. Know where the parents will be.

5. Have emergency numbers on hand.

6. Find out if the child has any medical conditions that require special care.

7. Find out where the first aid supplies are kept,just to be safe.

8. Don't do any cooking for yourself or the child while baby-sitting unless under parental instructions to do so.

9. Before bedtime,play quiet games rather than ones that would get the kids all hyper.

10. Never let small children lock the bathroom doors. Go into the bathroom with them to assure this doesn't happen.

11. After bedtime check the children every half hour.

12. Don't give any medications to a child except for burns, poison, or from instructions from the parents. Be sure to know how, when, and how much.

13. Ask the parents if they are expecting any phone calls and how to handle them. NEVER ever tell a stranger that the parents are not home.

14. Check with the parents how the children like to go to bed. Suggest to leave the child's bedroom door alittle open so that you can clearly hear them if they call you.

15. Never tie up phone for more than five minutes.(It's more polite to not use up their phone line)
