This is the 5 of us. I think it was taken back when I was 2 years old.....so 1977? Currently I live with my 3 brothers and my mom. My sister is the only one that is married and living with her inlaws. My grandmother was the one that named all of us and each of my brothers' and sister's name has a meaning when it's put together except for mine =( "Bao Toan" means something like "secure" and "Hanh Phuc" means something like "love and happiness". My name "Van" I think means "clouds" but I'm not sure.
This is the 5 of us about 3 years ago (1997)somewhere in Santa Cruz I think. All my three brothers were here on vacation (2 lived in France and 1 lived in Canada) at that time. If I remeber, we went to the Mystery Spot this day.
This is my daddy with my nephew. My mom and him have been separated since I was 12 so I don't see him that often although he lives here in San Jose. He just recently (June '00) got admitted into the hospital and it turns out he has tuberculosis. It's times like this that makes me feel bad I didn't spend more time with him before....
This is my mommy. Lots of people say I look like her but I don't see the resemblance at all. I have my complaints about her but deep down...I'll admit...she was an alright mom. Not too strict...not too lenient.
I was the only kid of all of us that she raised from birth (the others grew up with my grandparents) so it was pretty hard for her when I finally moved out on my own this year.
This is my grandmother and grandfather (my dad's parents). They use to live in France but now they're back in Vietnam. I'm not as close to them as my brothers and sister are because my grandparents were the ones that raised my brothers and sister in France while my parents raised me here (long story) in the US.

Here's my nephew Bryant (Hanh's son). He's my only nephew (so far). This is a pic of him 2 summers ago (1998) when we went to France.
This is my cousin Kimmie (on the right)...our mommies are sisters. As little kids, we went through ALOT together. Ever since we entered college though , we've kinda lost touch since she was in Berkeley and I was here. Now we pretty much communicate through email since she's still living in Berkeley. She's moving in at the end of this month (June '00) with her boyfriend Robin. We finally got a chance to bond when we took a trip to Vegas last month.
This is Bryant (Aug/99). He's in a cast cuz he was running around the house, fell, and broke his leg.
