Hello, my name is Heather Lee Burgess.  I was born and raised in a small town known as Cooperstown, New York.  We'll actually it's not even a town.  It's a Hamlet. We're located in Central/Northern New York State U.S.A. Cooperstown is widely known for being the hometown of The Baseball Hall Of Fame.

I live in the house I was brought up in.  I have one sibling who is for years my senior, her name is
Holly. Holly moved back into the house after her divorce and the death of my father.  My mother and father separated years ago.  She moved about 20 mins. away. And now she has a new family.

My family is very important to me.  I was never with ought someone to play with.  My neighbors are my relatives.  There was always a cousin to find some sort of mischief to get into.  We'd race down the hills on our bikes, swim in the pool partake in our favorite pastime of "exploring" in the woods.  When we were young we'd use the vines and fallen branches to create little villages.  As we matured we became vampire hunters.  We'd run around the woods at night with stakes, holy water and garlic.  We thought we were hot stuff (This transpired after watching the move "The Lost Boys"). Regardless I always had someone to goof around with.. and trust me... I'm a goofer from way back. It was an unspoken ritual that for years my family would spend every
holiday together.  And I treasure those memories close to my heart.  I think it's genetic how zany, humorous, and well just quite frankly off the wall we all are.  God forbid you get us all together at the same time, it's a regular circus.

As long as I can remember I've wanted to be a nurse.
Hartwick College has had a reputation of producing wonderful nurses, so I applied there and was accepted.  I graduated in 1997 with a bachelor of science degree.  Currently I am working at  Mary Imagine Bassett Hospital. I work on the Acute Care Surgical Nursing Floor.  I specialize in orthopedic nursing.
