I Said I Love You
I said I love you and you just laughed
I said I love you and you screamed at me
I said I love you and you punched me
I said I love you and you gave me the drugs to enslave me
I said I love you and you raped me
I said I love you and you gave me the knife for me to slit my
wrists
I said I love you and I died
This poem was written by
Heather, whom I love dearly. It expresses the pain she once had to
go through. To this day, I still want to kill the guy who treated her so
badly. But violence doesn't solve violence. All I can do is be her friend
and hope she will be safe and sound, in the arms with someone who loves
her.
When I first read this poem,
it brought back the horrible memories of an abusive lover. And reading
these words also made me realize how scared women can be when they are
in this type of situation. If you are reading this now, please, put down
what you are doing right now, and get away. It would be the best move you
have ever made.
