Storm

 Lightning flashes
Illuminating the shadowed, dark figure in the doorway
The aura of pain and sadness permeates even this black night
The wind blows his tattered clothes
Hail strikes his face, the storm rages on
Sending streams of blood through his dried tear ducts
A moonbeam reaches through the night to grasp the face of peace
Nurturing love shines through her pale eyes, as if forced
The cave she holds becoming his shelter from the storm
Time ticks on the clock, aging all that is, almost unnoticed
The storm increases in it's fury, unable to reach him, for her
Her soft touch, her deep gaze
With her caress, ages of scars erase from his heart
With her kiss, joy fills his hollow soul
With her word, his smile
Time ages everything, and as the tree falls to crush his haven
He remembers... everything she has done...
And with the final crash the storm hits him again
The windows, that are his eyes, shatter
The bandages wrapped on his soul shred
His heart barely held by the glue of memories
And he smiles, because though the storm rages, violently, on
She stands on guard, with comfort.
And unrelenting love.

--Vikki, I hope this begins to explain what you, and your time mean
to me. Words could never explain the flood of emotions in my soul, but
you are the most powerful and the most cherished--
