Recipes
Lincoln Log Cake
Bake your favorite chocolate cake recipe in a 46 oz juice can (yes I said a 46 oz. jusice can *S*) Remove one end. Greae, cut and fit a circular piece of waxed paper in bottom of can. Fill 2/3 full with cake batter. Stand 2 straws vertically in cake batter. Pour remaining batter around straws, filling can 3/4 full. Plastic straws can be used if cut off 1 to 2 inches above batter. Straws allow air to be released from bottom of pan so cake will rise properly.
Bake cake until you can lift a strawa without batter sticking to it. Allow cake to cool. With can opener, remove bottom of can and slide cake out. Place cool cake on a plate and deorate with favortie light chocolate frosting.
You can make a frosting bag by cutting out a corner from a heavy plastic bag. Fill bag with darker chocolate frosting. Clip end and begin decorating by going horizontally back and forth across the cake. On both ends, use darker frositng to create rings. Top frosted cake with 3 stemmed maraschno cherries and place a miniature paper hatchet into the log (optional of course)
