Prelude #1: There is a saying, and it is true: Gor is not fair, Gor is not just. You may read these rules and decide no way ...this is not for me. A true Gorean slave embraces them willingly. I repeat, Gor is not fair.

Prelude #2: While Free Persons are NOT always right, they are by definition, NEVER wrong, therefore slave's do not argue with a Free Person. They do, however, always have the last two words in any disagreement ... those being "Yes Master". (if this rests uneasy to you, refer back to Prelude #1)

1. Permission to enter and exit  #The_Masquerade_Inn is always required.  In an emergency, the slave may message a Keeper for permission to leave. If two subsequent requests go unanswered in a reasonable amount of time, the slave may leave safely, without reprisal. Entry to provide service or to observe for non-TMI slaves requires explicit permission unless the slave enters with a FP, in which case the FP should make it clear that the slave is being brought in by him/her.

2. Greet the one who allowed you entrance, and your Master/Mistress, then go to the serving furs and kneel. Then greet the remaining Male Keepers (Ops), then the Female Keepers, Male Guests, followed with the Female Guests, first girl, second girl, followed with brothers and sisters. In keeping with IRC, Tal is a greeting between free persons, slaves may NOT use tal . The preferred greeting method is "Greetings Master <Full Nick> and should be used. Be Well, is also not to be used, use I wish you well, instead.

3. If you are must go afk (away from keyboard), first ask permission, then change your nick to reflect this, i.e., kajira{TMI}-afk. Upon your return, return your nick to normal and beg permission to return.

4. Slaves are never permitted in more than one channel. Period. A slave is to always be pleasing, and be alert and ready to serve a Free Person at any time. Therefore, their complete attention should be in one channel only. The exception is the First and Second Girl, who may be at TMI and the Training Camp or possibly kennels at the same time while observing the status of the Inn. If slaves are required at the Inn from the Training Camp for service, the FG or SG will call them. The pleasure of our customers is paramount.

5. Always greet newly arriving Free Persons with their proper title of respect, either Master or Mistress. If you are unsure, check their /whois. If this still gives no clue, then greet them as Master. If incorrect, apologize profusely and make a note for future reference.

6. A slave owns nothing, not even their name. You have nothing not given to you by a Free Person, from your name to your silks to your dancing bells. All items can just as quickly be taken away. Cherish them and guard them well. All gifts are to handed over to Mistress Masque. If She wishes, some items may be given back to you.

7. During the course of serving, slaves are required to pay full attention to the task at hand, thus the slave SHOULD NOT have the time to greet any person entering. Appropriate greetings can be done after the slave has been released from the task at hand. The slave shall not engage in any other activities while serving a Master (i.e, msgs to others EXCEPT to ask for assistance in the serve)

8. A slave is forbidden to message or query (often referred to as whispering) a Free Person in any channel without first begging permission in the open channel, i.e. "Mistress Masque`, may a girl whisper with You, please." Failure to do so could result in the slave being punished. Slaves may not whisper with a Free Person who is not in channel. Slaves may banter at will in msg's to any other slaves. It is a good idea to express concern in open channel to Keepers and/or other Free Persons in the event that a slave feels threatened or harassed by any person. The exception is messaging a Keeper IF you are in trouble, Mistress Masque and the Master Trainer who may be messaged at any time they are on channel without asking permission.

9. Slaves are never to freely join in the conversation of Free Persons without being invited to do so. They may converse with their sisters and brothers in private chat, but their attention had best always be focused on the channel. You may speak in general terms, such as offering to serve, or actions such as tidying up the tavern. Basically, do not speak unless spoken to.

10. Slaves will offer to serve all Free Persons in the Inn.  Do not yell across the Inn to a Free Person, rise and move to them, kneeling at their feet and offer service with the style and obedience of a true kajira.  We are the finest slaves on Gor, and conduct ourselves by the rules of TMI.  You may do a general offer to the entire room.  For the order of who to offer service to, see the First or Second girl.

11. An idle slave is seen as a lazy, undesirable slave, and has no place on Gor. Never sit idle in the channel.   If your services are not needed, busy yourself in other ways, such as tidying the Inn, baking bread, or tending the fire.

12. Slaves are never to touch any kind of weapons or money.  If a Free Person insists on giving you money, take it on your tongue and deliver to a Keeper, or place in the coin box. Slaves are not allowed to handle any device or instrument that can be construed as a weapon {with the exception of serving knives chained in place for the purpose of preparing foods}.
 
13. Slaves must always use third person. There is no "I", "me" or "mine" in an IRC Gorean slave's vocabulary. If your Master or Mistress allows you this privilege, keep it between the two of you. Always demonstrate your submission as a slave with third party speech in public.

14. Obey the commands of all Keepers and the First and Second girl, providing such commands does not break any of these rules. In such cases, respectfully draw the attention of the Keeper to the specific rule.

15. If you are a kajira or kajirus here, you are one everywhere.  There is no such thing as "switches" on Gor.  The penalty for posing as Free, under Gorean law, is death. Be aware that even though any Inn/tavern you may visit will have basic rules of operations, slaves should be aware of any additional rules that may exist in the particular Inn/tavern they are visiting. It is recommended that other slaves be asked as to the nature and rules of that channel.

16.Slaves who are not bound to the TMI kolar may change nicks, but they should know that the nick not "owned" by them but is merely in use since a slave can not own any thing **Warning** abuse of this privilege by constant changes may cause problems for the slave and possible ban from the Inn/tavern

17. There is no forcing of slaves into alcoves or kolars.  Keep in mind, a true Master or Mistress would want a slave that was alive and open to them.  This does not mean that you can pick and choose whom you serve.  You must give your services freely and with excellence to all Free Persons.  If you have a problem with a Free Person, and it persists, contact a Keeper.

18. No slaves can be forced to accept a kolar that the slave does not freely take ***WARNING** once kolared, removing it is at the discretion of the owner only. Think well before accepting or asking for one. In the event that an Owner can no longer be present and the slave wishes the removal of the kolar, the slave must ask a Council Member to petition the Council for action. NOTE: an abandoned slave, by definition, is one who has had NO communication with the owner for a period of no less than 4 weeks.

19. Use the following name suffixes when applicable to show you are unavailable in general: -alc (alcove) -lap (lapping) -serv (serving) - whis (whispering) -afk (away from keyboard)

20. The use of popups, aliases, or macros are not to be used with the exception of dances.

21. A kolared slave may only be disciplined at the discretion of the Owner. She will be asked what her restrictions are in this regard and they will be enforced. If she has committed an error for which punishment is deemed necessary and it can not be given, she will be told to leave and her Owner will be informed and the matter dealt with before she may return.

22. An unkolared slave is at the mercy of any Free Person. However, visiting slaves will be protected at the Inn, which is a Safe Haven, while they are there and as long as they conduct themselves according to our rules and standards.

23.The usage of explicit and graphic descriptions may be used, but the slave must be aware of their meanings and intentions that could be provoked the use of such words. Be prepared to accept the consequences. See Rule 30

24.Slaves may not be founders of Inn/taverns, Inns, Halls or other any other profit-making channel. They may, however, be founders of various other types of channels, providing permission has been granted by Mistress Masque.

25.Ops is reserved for free persons, or "FIRST's" which are expected to "DE-OP" if an Inn Keeper is present. In the event a slave must use the "KICK" to remove a guest, the slave is required to notify Keepers (Ops) with logs concerning the matter.

26.In the event that the Owner of the slave is to be absent, the Owner can assign a protector during the absence.

27. If a new slave has joined, please message them and welcome them to TMI, explain a little of our ways. Remember, we are always needing new slaves. All of us were new to Gor at sometime. Do not expect Free new to Gor to know all of our ways. If they are truly curious explain Gor to them, if they are just a HNG looking for a good time, inform a Keeper at once.

28.  Traveling:  White silk slaves may travel with a TMI Inn Keeper only.  Yellow silks may travel freely (with exception to the list of channels where TMI is not welcomed, TMI is in dispute or where you may be in danger) on the condition that they are not needed at the Inn. For example, you may not sit chatting to your friends in another channel if the Inn is busy and your presence is required. Even during travelling, you are still under the TMI kolar and may be called back at any time. At all times, remember, when you travel, your actions reflect the honour of the Inn. Master TemplarSan will take it as a personal insult if you misbehave when in other channels.

29.  Sexual Activity:  White silk slaves may kiss, cuddle, lap, and of course generally serve food and beverage; there will be no further sexual conduct.  Yellow silk girls may have full sexual privileges, subject to personal restrictions imposed by Mistress Masque or the Master Trainer.

30. No real life personal contact information, eg telephone numbers, addresses etc, may be given out unless permission has been sought from Mistress Masque or the Master Trainer.

31. Sexual scening is permitted in the Inn. Offense words and vulgarities  are not to be used in open channel. Use substitutes. If you have to ask for a substitute, you shouldn't be scening in open channel. However, remember, you cannot be FORCED into a scene with anyone. If you don't want to be available, inform Mistress Masque or the Master Trainer and your Sexual Restrictions will be adjusted to reflect your choice. There will be no rapes or nonconsensual scening at TMI.

32. Under no circumstances will a slave, with the exception of the First and Second Girl, correct another slave in open channel. Do so in pm, or ask to speak to a Keeper.

33. Gathis can be told to search for a slave through all servers and all channels. If he finds you and orders you back to the Inn, you will assume that message has come from TMI and return to TMI at once.

34. All punishments to TMI slaves are done by a Keeper or with His permission, according to guidelines set by Mistress Masque and Her Master Trainer. Should you have offended another Free Person, you will log the offence and submit it to the Master Trainer on His return. Whippings, beatings or punishments other than verbal ones, carried out by ANYONE except Him will be logged.

35. All of the documents sent to you from TMI are not to be sent to any third person other than TMI Keepers or TMI slaves. The exceptions are the letters intended for new slaves or Free who come to the channel.

Service: What it is and how to do it

The primary function of a slave upon Gor, and therefore upon Gorean IRC, is to serve the needs of free persons. There are as many different modes of service as there are Masters and Mistresses, and each free person has his or her own preferred manner whereby service requirements are fulfilled. This document will not attempt to list them all, but will rather simply offer some guidelines which should help the willing slave integrate his or herself into Gorean society.

First of all, a slave should be respectful and dutiful in the presence of any free person. This is due to the fact that, upon Gor, free persons literally hold the power of life and death over any slave. Upon Gor, all slaves are considered to be responsible for serving all free persons.

While some Masters and Mistresses will kolar a slave and reserve him or her for their private use, this does not mean that the slave in question is no longer required to be pleasing to all free persons at all times. There have always been slaves who came to Gor but refused to bow to this rule, and the graveyards of Gor are littered with their bodies. There is no place on Gor for bratty or selfish slaves, and if you cannot deal with this, then go elsewhere and save yourself some hard knocks.

In the presence of a free person, a Gorean slave kneels at all times, unless serving or commanded otherwise. A Gorean slave addresses all free men as "Master" and all free women as "Mistress" regardless of whether or not they are owned by that person. A Gorean slave is humble at all times and respects the servility of his or her station. A Gorean slave does not bargain, debate or argue. A Gorean slave does not expect to be rewarded, and takes pleasure from being pleasing and providing service. A Gorean slave cannot have "honor," but is expected to have integrity, loyalty and to serve all to the best of his or her ability. A Gorean slave accepts punishment and discipline without complaint. A Gorean slave is always looking for something to do or someone to serve. When a slave fails to understand a command given to him or her, he/she politely asks for it to be clarified. A Gorean slave is forbidden by law to touch money, a whip, or any form of weaponry with his or her hands, unless expressly instructed to.

OWNERSHIP POLICY: All slaves with a TMI or Msq kolar are the Property of Mistress Masque`. I own them completely. They own nothing... no name, word, opinion, feeling, right, privilege, responsibility, possession... except with my permission.

SLAVES:
Anything you say to anyone may be shown to me at anytime. This includes FP and slaves. I will not tolerate disobedience or dishonesty. I expect your full trust, loyalty, devotion, and obedience at all times. Do not ask me to keep confidences. You will trust my judgement in all things. Be assured that I don't go around saying so-and-so said this or that, I have never been one to talk behind anyone's back, and I am not a troublemaker. I do everything in my power to avoid it. However, these are my decisions to make and I won't be questioned about them. DO NOT GOSSIP among yourselves!
