During my 9 month stint in GTMO that ended in July of 2000 I met Rich here. I was at the movies when I saw a bunch of high school kids getting harassed by some of the jagholes at base security. Being "The Father", I kept a close watch at the goings on here. Security dispersed and I asked the kids if all was ok. It was, and Rich and I began to talk. Over the months, we began to see each other around and chill. Soon as he turned 18, he was a regular at the Windjammer club, challenging any jabroni to a game of pool. We went to a few parties together and we met some cool people. In May of 2000 we met Lee, Fara, and Kim, and we had a new little gang to run with. I couldn't think of a better guy to get taken into security on a bullshit charge with than Rich. For a long time, he and I were the only "longhairs" on base. Then I cut mine, and it was just him. He's still looking for his niche in life, so if you ever see him around, give him a job or some tips, or a book or something. He has since left GTMO on another bullshit charge. I wish him well.
