Thoughts

<8/12> Damn, this summer really passed by pretty fast huh? Well I really haven't been committed to update anything, I just find myself wit nothing else better to do right now, which should explain this update. Anyways, it's been a pretty hectic week actually, not really hectic per se, eventful is probably a more suitable word. Anyways, at this time last week, Tim gave me a call telling me that Hyun-Ki had some type of announcement that he had to make. After that I kinda had an ominous premonition as to what this announcement would be about, and turns out my feeling was right, since the news turned out to be that he was gonna be leaving us. I dunno, it wasn't really a teary-eyed situation or anything, I don't think Hyun-Ki would have wanted that, cus he kinda avoided getting too emotional. I guess really the news just hit us fast, and I still think people are having a hard time comphrehending with this fact, but damn, I hate that things turned out this way. It woulda been cool if everyone could be graduating together, kinda sucked that Jane left already for senior year, but I guess this just leaves me more to look forward to during any extended holidays or long weekends when people will be visiting.
But seriously, my life has been so damn boring lately, I totally didn't realize it. I mean, I had a great time the last couple of days that Hyun-Ki was around, and KISS was the shit that particular night. Somehow I just think that I've kinda grown tired of everything, aztec, singing, and mabbe even clubbing. As much as I'd hate to admit it, I just find that things now are just so unfuflfilling, because I guess I can pretty much know whut to expect anytime we go do these things, just seems like there isn't that much of a surprise factor anymore. Before it seemed that anything was fun once beer was involved, just kinda seems like the same doesn't hold true any longer. I kinda jus miss the senseless, and spontaneous fun that we had during our middle school days. I remember having probably one of the most pointless, yet heated debates wit Gary and David about the politics behind Chris Benoit's push to Main Event Status after KISS closed down. Probably one of the fei-est conversations that I've had in a while. Gary's arguement that Chris Benoit lacked the charisma and eloquence of other Main Eventers like Rock and Triple H definitely was one that holds substance, but I'm glad that he agreed with me to some extent that Chris Benoit is just a flat out kickass wrestler, and that he is deserving of his push based on wrestling skills alone. I guess it was just funny to see the three of us get so worked up over the topic at hand. But anyways I'm just hoping that this next year, we can really just grow to just be able to have fun in the company of eachother, a sign of true friendship. Well, anyways it's getting late tonight, so this will be whut i leave you till the next update, payce.

<6/28> Well basically nothing has been going on these last few days, I just decided to add another journal entry jus to show y'all that I am making a lot of updates to my page..not like i've got anything better to do, there are no good movies out here, no one is ever on ICQ anymore since everyone is out enjoyin themselves in the states or wherever they may be...actually there are probably still some people here , but..yeah i'm pretty much too lazy to make any effort....anyways...I noticed an article in a local newspaper a couple of days ago about the Aztec and Comic King chain stores, which have slowly become popular gathering places for Taiwanese locals. I didn't really get the purpose of the article , because these places have been around for a while, and are no longer news to anybody familiar with the Taipei community, so if anything this article wasn't written to get the local community acquainted with these places. But after finishing the article, I was laughing at whut was some pretty fucked up shit. Basically this article totally went out of its way to villify these places, which in my mind, really are probably the safer places in Taipei. I guess this a classic example of how a lot of writers go out of their way to make an issue out of things that probably don't even matter in the first place, kinda like this one. It was funny, they pretty much suggested that there was a lot of drug trafficking in these areas, since police tend to turn a blind eye to these places as opposed to a KTV or a pool hall. Okay, I've been to Aztec on a pretty frequent basis, and lemme tell ya whut kind of people hang out there, nerdy ass locals...all I ever hear these people talkin 'bout are Star Craft and Age Of Empires, not exactly the type that you'd associate with drug use. Actually, this article really has no substance to it all, it's not like people have actually been caught at these areas doing that type of shit anyways. This dumbass writer even said that these places enticed people to have sex in the "bao shiangs"(I know it's stupid shit, but please listen to their rationale) because it charges onl 1 NT per minute, and offers free drinks. Now this is seriously some scrubby shit, but what really gets me off, is that I didn't even know there were any girls who'd be willing to get their cherries popped at Aztec. Aren't Asian girls supposed to be hella high-maintinance? I go to TAS, there are lots of living examples in front of me. And on another note, the female population at Aztec is pretty much non-exsistent..hahaha talk about low standards, at least there is some type of intimacy in doing it at the backseat of a car, the way teens used to handle their business in the old days. Please explain to me how it is romantic to be making love to some guy or girl while hearing locals yell "gan ni nia" because they just got their asses kicked at Starcraft, or have a guy interupt you to ask if you want more coke.
Anyways, this is something that i'll have to see before I believe it. God, I hate how the media has to ruin my social life. Everytime some shit goes on somewhere they've gotta report it, and thus limiting the places where I can go everytime. Geese, if a guy gets killed at a pool hall over some dispute over the score, just report that a guy got killed, we don't need to know the details, and we don't want to know the details. You can still get yer story, see "Guy Gets Killed" as a headline gets a lot of attention right? When you don't mention the fact that he got killed at a poolhall, parents will still feel fine about you going to a poolhall...hahahaa...cus I mean, the thing is that parents believe anything on the newspaper, anything the media reports is infallible in the eyes of a parent. So despite the fact that I have been to KTV's, and poolhalls and have turned out fine, everytime 30 people get into a fight or a heated dispute, my parents are always telling me to go somewhere else and do something "constructive." Ahh I know they're just thinking for me, and hope that I'm never caught in the middle of any altercation between local gangs, or local gangs and my friends...but i dunno, sometimes shit just happens, kinda like the time where some guy got killed in a movie theater cus he was laughing too loud.....sometimes, fucked up shiet happens when you least expect i guess.....anyways...that concludes today's entry..

<6/26>The summer that I envisioned was different, to say the least. I saw myself partying 24/7, or endeavoring into different regions of the city finding new ways to pass the time. Besides, as great as being in the states is, reality is that I would probably be having more fun in Taipei where everything is more accessible and where nothing is illegal..haha, sure I have to deal with smelley locals, which is definitely not the best experience, but something i've learned to deal with. Anyhow, this summer started off pretty well with a really kickass party at fer's cabin, but then the ensuing week pretty much set the tone for the rest of the summer. During this week, or the next two weeks for that matter, I had to make multiple round trips to and from school sorting prom pics. It was pretty stressful for the most part. We were pretty short-handed the most time, and the photographers were really uncooperative. It pretty much was a no-win situation for all of us, cus everything was going so slow, photos were missing, and we pretty much were left out to dry by our class sponsors who didn't really help us out much throughout this whole process. Given the bind that we were already in, we also had to deal with the external pressure of friends and classmates complaining about the photos. This pretty much left me wondering why I devote myself to all these things, eventho no matter how hard i (or anyone else for that matter) try we will never be able to please anybody, ahhh the cold face that is reality. Anyhow those two weeks pretty much left me without any money, which pretty much left me with nothing to do. To think that it was only a month ago admist my ib's, finals, prom preparation, and various other college entrance exams, that i worried 'bout consuming too much alcohol and whut not. Well I guess it was good that I was finally able to get out last week, I watched "Scarface" with Tim and Jon, and then went clubbing with David, Nelson, Wilson, Kenny, Bryant, Tim, Jeff Pan, and Victor a couple of nights later. It just felt good to finally get out and do some stuff over the summer that is non-school related. Ahh, suddenly I'm not in the writing mood, so I guess I'll stop the journal for this week right here, and y'all should expect more frequent updates during the summer, mabbe I'll even throw in a movie review of Scarface, which is a pretty kickass movie..so that's it for this week (a pretty half-assed effort, I know, but cut me some friggin slack).
