WHY SHE'S IN THE SKITS: Well, we already had Kristy as sort-of-a female lead, it's just that Kristy's a ditz in the skits. So she had the strong female part that was needed. There was also a need for a smart, level-headed person to be in the skits to contrast with all the craziness. Also, Katie's pretty-much Kristy's sidekick (don't ask what Sarah is, cause I don' know) so she had that going for her.
