The Night Stalker
There were a couple of "THE NIGHT STALKER" TV movies made in 1972-73 and then the series aired from September 1974 to March 1975 and starred DARREN MCGAVIN as "KOLCHAK."
"Son, I've seen more dead bodies than you've had tv dinners."
NIGHT STALKER was really just
THE X-FILES but with better acting.
"For reasons I have never been able to understand, Vincenzo was always confusing my reporter's clever ingenuity with what he calls high-handed lunacy."
KOLCHAK
"Sometimes if you want a job done right, you just have to foul it up yourself."
KOLCHAK
"It occurred to me that I could combine both into a genre or sub-genre of fiction that I didn't think had been tried: a thriller combining the vampire story with a police and political cover-up, all based on what I knew would be the logical bureaucratic response to the situation I could create: a threat not only to life but also to the all-important tourist trade of a city that existed on the strength of it."
JEFF RICE, author and creator of THE NIGHT STALKER
POSTSCRIPT
"Men fear death as children fear to go in the dark; and as that
natural fear in children is increased with tales, so is the other."
FRANCIS BACON, OF DEATH
