Steve Morse / The Dixie Dregs
STEVE MORSE is an amazingly versatile guitar player whose work with the DIXIE DREGS embraced everything from bluegrass to classical and all genres in between. His newest stuff with DEEP PURPLE is great (the best DEEP PURPLE since TOMMY BOLIN played with them). I was fortunate enough to see the DIXIE DREGS perform at a small club in Indianapolis a few years back, and JERRY GOODMAN was playing violin with them...an excellent show.
"Certain things that repeat are called style. If somebody with a lot of influences noticing repeating and is in a bad mood, then he calls it repetition. If they are in a good mood, then it becomes a certain style. I am cynical when it comes to trying to categorize trends because I am so subjective. I am not good at analyzing my own music. To me every song is different. I would attribute the similarities to being stylist. Was that confusing enough?"
