MY WONDERFUL LIFE...

I have truely been blessed in my life... I have great parents, a brother and sister... have a beautiful daughter (both inside and out)... three step-children from my previous marriage (Larry, Kandy, Windi).. nine beautiful grandchildren from my first marriage (Michael, Danielle, Niki, Jessika, Krystal, Michelle, John, Trycia, and Brandon).. A Great-Grandson Colin (mother is Danielle) .. We now have 2 wonderful grandson's, Hunter and Cyrus.. I have a wonderful husband Johnny and two wonderful step-children (Kasey and Billy)... I couldn't ask for any more!! .. I have truely been blessed many times in my life, and the joys keep coming ..

On February 7, 1988 my wonderful life was almost taken away by a car accident...A driver went left of center and hit my van head on, my daughter was 9 at the time and was with me...I died three times and they brought my life back..I spent a month in the hospital and they said i would never walk again.....with the love of my husband, my daughter, family, friends, doctors, and by the grace of God, I survived and learned to walk again...this experience has made me the person i am today...i have been given a second chance at life and i intend on making good use of it...I live to help others and make their day as pleasant as I can...I wish there wasn't materialistic people...and I believe everyone has good within them...Give everyone a chance before you condemn them..show love and you will receive love..

..

The first pic is the van i was driving when i was hit...The second pic is where i was sitting... i am very lucky to be here today and very grateful... and yes we were both wearing seatbelts...

I was a Secretary at bus company for 8 yrs. prior to my accident..My recovery took about 2 years..then i got a wonderful job as a Secretary/Asst. Dir. at The Arc...I worked there for 7 years..The last two summers I was lucky enough to be Camp Director over 50 campers and employees.."The Arc Circle of Friends Camp" was for children 3 to 21 with developmental disabilities.....just remember "People First..Disabilities Never"

This is The Arc "Circle of Friends" trip to the Columbus (OH) Zoo in 1997....one of our 6 trips....the campers and staff loved the zoo trip every year..

I started a new career.. lol.. I went back to work and was a cashier at a Dollar Store.. am trying to help Johnny while he starts his own business plus he works a full-time job.. the Dollar Store closed, but I am now a Sales Associate at a clothing store.. still loving every moment I live.. you should too.. don't take one second for granted!!

This is a comparison/contrast written by my sister Jacque about me.. She graduated from Marion Technical College in Marion, OH in June 1996... i am very proud of her..

AN EAGLE AND MY SISTER

Many people look at an eagle and see only its beauty and strength in flight. I look at an eagle and see its natural instinct for survival, and its continuous fight for life. In my eyes, the combined attributes of an eagle are like those of my sister. Her natural instinct for survival provided the tremendous courage needed to survive a horrible automobile accident.

As the eagle demonstrates its ability of strength in the air, my sister demonstrates hers in the public eye. The eagle symbolizes power, freedom, and greatness in our society. The eagle's freedom is a noticeable attribute that all Americans can understand. We see the freedom of the eagle as it soars above us, in search of food. My sister also soars high above us in a human way. She soars for her freedom from pity and distrustful looks. The misunderstanding she receives from people who do not understand her disability, are conquered because of her freedom and strength. The eagle with its soft, colorful feathers and strong, muscular legs shows the world its ability to take care of itself. My sister also shows the world that she is self-sufficient, with her beauty and strong legs.

The eagle has a natural instinct for its survival. It must struggle daily in our world for food and safety. My sister struggles daily with a disability, to provide food and safety for her daughter and herself. Like the eagle, my sister is a born fighter for life. As the eagle is very agressive when fighting for its life and food, my sister is very agressive when overcoming any problems with her disability. My sister is like an eagle in its abilities to survive the elements of the world.

So when people next see an eagle soaring above them, I hope they look past its beauty and see its inner strength. And the next time anyones sees a disabled person, I hope the inner strengths of that individual is noticed. My sister is like an eagle who has a natural instinct for survival.
