Society has filled their homes
with violence and despair.
"WE" as a nation, as a people need
to mend our society.....
it's time to repair.
What have we done to our children?
Are we so wrapped up in
"Our" lives that we can't see....
What's happening to our children?
They didn't ask to be here....
We owe it to them to protect them.
They need to know we will protect
them from the violence and despair.
They need to know we love and we care.
They need to know that we are trying to
change the violence, and hate that is there.

"Today" they learned a tragic fact
that life can be unfair.
One single act of violence has
changed their lives you see...

Today is the day society took away
their innocence , it never more can be.
"They" were stripped of their innocence,
by the "memories" they will always see.
They will carry the burden forever,
their memories will never be free.
We can let them know we love them,
and let them know that we care.
But they lost the age of innocence:
that tragic day they were there.

These children should laugh and play,
and they should have all the good
things life has to give.
These poor souls will remember this day....
for all the years they live.
We must let them know we love them,
and confirm we care.

The saddest part of all is.....
they watched the children die.
Their lives were taken so quickly.
There were no fond goodbyes.
How do you justify to a child,
when another child dies?
They saw their faces,
they heard their screams.
They saw the fear in their eyes.
A violent act of terror,
that cannot be justified!

Today they lost their innocence.
No one will ever know just why?
They will carry this memory
until the day they die.
Today they lost their innocence..
Today a nation cried..

Our heart goes out to the ones
whose children died.
We know your hearts are broken,
but we will grieve the ones that lived....
A "Memory" never dies....

We are all asking the question WHY???? We have no answers but we can start with the right guidence for our children...First of all we have to start with love in the home...and love isn't the material things you give your children....Love is the word NO....Love is a HUG ..... Love is being there for when they need us... Love is letting them know it is ok to be different...Love is GOOD....take out an "O" and you have GOD....we need to put him in their lives.....Love is doing things together and sharing ...Love is a unity of being one... If I have left out anything please let me know and I will add it...but the word NO comes to my mind...say no to your kids once in a while..but give the reason why ...listen to what our kids have to say really listen to them, give them the respect we demand from them.... and most of all but not last...
