Hello

True Friends

As you slowly page
thru the pages of your life,
As you reach your golden years,
All things in life seem to
take a new line of importance.

When we were young, just worrying about
the simple things seemed important.
Then as we grew older...
Our lives changed.
Our families and our jobs
had taken top priority.
We struggled, and failed,
picked ourselves up,
and started over again.
Many happy years and several blue.
You paged them accordingly
to importance to you.
Like holding your first born...
nothing was more precious then that.

Then the years started to pass quickly.
The children are all grown,
and set out on their own.
You pray you have given them
the morals and values,
that they will need to survive.
Then comes the years of
the grandchildren too.
Now a new page;
and greater importance to you.
Inside their hearts they know
how much you love and care.
Grandmothers and grandfathers
love will always be there.

Now here comes a time in our life
when we need a "good friend".
A friend and companion on whom we depend.
A person that knows when
we've had a bad day.
A friendship that grows stronger
with each passing day.
A friend doesn't have to be someone
you have known all of your life.
You shared that kind of partnership
with your husband or wife
A "True Friend" is someone
who listens and cares.
They know when you are hurting,
and they are willing to be there.

A friendship that immediately
touches your heart.
The miles and distance
does not keep you apart.
A phone call, a handshake,
a letter or two.
You love them and they love you.
So as you keep paging together
the pages of your life.
You realize what
is so very important to you.

So when ever you see a person go by.
Make sure you smile, and be sure to say "Hi"
As that passerby could very possibly be;
A "True Dear Friend" like you are to me!
The ones you'll love, forever and ever "Amen"
