Walt Whitman - the Good, Grey Poet

I've been a Whitman lover for years. He's one of the transcendentalists, along with Emerson, and ever since 1855 he's deeply touched the souls of many people. His book, "Leaves of Grass", encompasses a philosophy of life: keep your spirit high, celebrate nature and being alive - all of the simple pleasures, touch other human beings body and soul...I adore the section titled 'Children of Adam'. This is some of the stuff that got him into trouble with the victorian minded folk - the poetry was too sensual and sexual, but he refused to take it out, the body being as important as the soul.I love to talk about Whitman, his poetry, life, etc. If you're interested, email me!
