Our sweats are clothing optional, and some people do wear abathing suit. I was surprised to find that some folks would not even participate though because of nudity. In all cases they were women. This all reflects on a very sad side to our culture which has created an ideal body image that matches only a small percentage of women on the planet. Many women now have surgery, injections, dejections, starve themselves, and spend millions on gizmos, programs, diets, etc. that will help them look like the media created goddess. We've been taught that any body that falls outside of the media image is something to hide and be embarrassed about. Our culture has really beaten up women regarding self-esteem and body image. Nudists clearly understand that beauty is a reflection of body and soul, and that the many varied shapes are natural, more interesting and appealing. Being naked socially is not about body type, but rather experiencing the joy of being in total contact with the environment and sharing this sensual joy with others. Please note, sensual does not equate to sexual. There are also some who feel that social nudity is bad, naughty, dirty, etc. People ask, "Why naked?" and many of us answer, "Why not?" What is bad, naughty, dirty, etc. about the human body? Why must we hide it? I can give plenty of reasons why nudity is healthy and wonderful, but I have yet for anyone to provide me with any why nots that make sense when debated. Get Naked!
