On August 18, Mom and I had a Barbecue/get together for all the Internet friends we had met on line, and some of them even showed up!!! What a day, I will never forget it!! The day started out as me being late as usual. Well ok I was at Mom's before anyone arrived, but just barely. The first ones to show up were Tory, Krystal (Tory's daughter), Travis, and Brandon ( Travis' son). Next to come was Michigander. then dom , and with a phone call in comes Shredder, REEB and CoMeDiAn ( with some Beer of course) , then to my surprise my best friend in real life, Country2, showed up just in time for pictures.
With alot of persuasion, we got them all into a picture. This was not as easy as you might think. We had REEB hiding in the tree, Mom getting attacked by the dog, and with all the laughing going on we were all surprised to get a good one taken!!
Now comes the cooking, Mom talked Travis into doing the grilling. We had to get his attention first of course! He did a wonderful job on the steaks. I was in charge of the bread gee that was a mistake! When we were cooking we were also trying to take the pictures too, so as you can imagine ummmmm, the bread was a little done in some places. Oh well you gotta love me, I tried ! :o)
Then it gets dark and the kids come in and say " Nan-C promised a bonfire". Gee kids don't forget anything do they!!! LOL So down the hill we go to start a fire for the kids. Have you ever seen men trying to make a "little" fire. Men and Little just don't go together LOL!!! All I kept saying was LITTLE guys LITTLE!!!! Well the fire got started and to my amazement it was little. Way to go guys =)
Then the kids said " we need smore's". Thank goodness Mom just got back from the weekend at the track, and had the stuff to make smore's for them. That was fun. =) So all I can say is we did make the kids happy
.
Ok well we were all happy too. Everyone was just like they are on-line. We laughed. laughed, and laughed. I hope everyone that came had as good as time as I did that night.
Of course the night had to come to an end sometime. It was late but it did, too soon of course. All I know is that if someone had another one I would go!! Lots of fun and you can now actually know who you are talking to.
Then the mean person that I am (HA HA) I made them all give comments on the party. They are as follows:
ROXS- See above I think that pretty well explains it =) But it was a blast and I would do it again in a heartbeat =)
Tory- i thought the cook out was WICKED AWESOME and i would do it again NOW if i could,, And i LOVED EVERYONE I MET and think of them AS ALL GREAT FRIENDS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Roxs and MOM for EVERYTHING YOU 2 ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD and I WILL AlWAYS LOVE YOU, thanks Love Inger (tory)
Travis- TRAVIS says " The only thing I can say about our Barbeque, is TOTALLY AWESOME, when I first arrived, being the shy silent type that I am, my stomach was in knots, I was so nervous. The first chance I got went to the cooler popped open a Beer, then another Beer, and then another Beer, finally I was able to talk. I brought a case of my own Beer, until Dom showed up then I went to drinking Canadian BEER ( Thanks Dom).
By this time I was feeling very RELAXED and was able to start grilling, I was surprised the steaks turned out as good as they did, as well as everything else. Me and Brandon had a real BLAST, Thanks MOM and ROXS for having us, I have needed a Night of FUN like this for a long time, and this is a night with FRIENDS that I will never forget. Everyone I met was totally AWESOME, and I hope we can do it again.
Nan-C (Mom)- The BBQ turned out really well. Everyone that came was terrific. It was great fun meeting some of my "kids". I hope we can have another one so I can meet more of my "kids". Tory and dom stayed the longest and now I feel like they are a part of my real family. Dad has always had a problem with the internet where ROXS and I are concerned. He was afraid that we would get hooked up with some weirdo. I wish he could have been here to see all the great people that ROXS and I talk to. (He had to work!!) Mom loves you all!!!!!
dom- K, the long awaited bbq comment!! hehe, I made it and am sure glad i did!!
I cruised into town...or at least the corner gas station...at about 3pm
maybe on 3 hours sleep, 8 hours driving (1 spent lost in a town i used to
live in!), and no food...what do i do once there?? Grab a beer! Well the
first people i meet surprisingly enough had electricity and cars in the
driveway!! And here comes ROXS to meet me! Then i met Brandon and Krystal,
Tory, Travis, Michigander and Nan-C! And then trouble!! Shredder with the
puter parts price list...REEB with a 30 pack and CoMeDiAn with something in
common....food and domino's! Well to make a long story short (Roxs has
threatened me with my own comment page), i'll finish with these impressions:
Michigander...great to meet you!! have to get you going on star trek again
lol. Brandon...watch that shredder character, he could wear ya out ya know!
CoMeDiAn...who'd a thunk it! A fellow pizza dude! Hehe, who said big rigs
can't go 100 mph! Travis...now here's a guy i learnt something from, how to
make brief comments and step outta the way of the smack as the comment lands
on ears hehehe. And the steaks??? Mmmmmmmmm delicious!!! Krystal and
Tory...what a team! It's so refreshing to know that there are kids being
brought up with manners and a politeness that makes you sigh and hope your
own develop the same way! Krystal...what a doll! and Tory...hehe, you were
right ROXS, a riot! One word for Tory that'll bring tears to her
eyes.....CORN! hehehe. REEB...standing invitation to any event involving
beer lol. Point me to the smelling salts! Ummmm, errr that was solvent???
Shredder...What can i say about this guy? Definately a guy who'll go out of
his way for you and did for me! Thanks for all your help with my visa errr,
puter parts lol!! Nan-C... awesome cole slaw, ya gotta send that recipe!!
What a lady! Just don't bug her after 8...chat time!! hehehe. And last but
not least, ROXS...hostess extraordinaire! What can you say about someone who
puts up with the likes of me for 4 days and still talks to me lol except,
you don't know jack!!! now lean towards the screen hehe. The bbq was
awesome! The friends wonderful and the food and drink ummm, endless. I just
wish i coulda stayed longer but i had smuggling to do LOL! Thanks for an
amazing time everyone! Definately can find some of the nicest netbuddies in
indiana!(wow what a comment dom!!! I should have had you write my page!! LOL)
REEB- PARTY? What Party? I'm there!!!! (LOL that is our REEB!!!!)
Shredder- Hey Mom, ROXS thanks for the wonderful picnic it was almost as Awesome as the 2 of you!! (and no he was not paid for that one =)!)
CoMeDiAn- I think it was awesome and if we could get more people there it would have been better. ( yes more is better but, we got to know each other better because there were fewer people to get to know)
Michigander- Great party, we will have to do it again sometime. It was nice meeting all of my friends from the chat rooms.
Country2- Just stayed for the pictures had to get home and take care of her kids,but I know that she had a good time the little bit that she was
there.
Well to end this page Here is one of the pictures that was taken of all of us! Think it had the record for most Internet people meeting at one place at one time??? Who knows, we don't even care all we know is that it was a good time enjoyed by all!!!
