It is in the mornings
I miss you most of all.
Before the sun hesitates
and the gray skies augue quietly
Before the dawn.
When last night's dream fragments
Leave me wordless and helpless
In some childhood hiding place
And old tears wait too patiently.
The evenings are seldom lonely
And sleep comes soon enough
to ward off disappointments
And the shattered pieces of the day.
It is in the mornings I miss you most of all.
