The next day was Sunday. Lazily, I got
up, showered and got dressed for church. The morning seemed to drag
on and on, and my mood didn't help either. I didn't feel like talking
to anybody...besides, what would I tell them? ‘Yeah, I'm dating this
really famous guy but no, you can't see him because he left last night
and I don't even know if I'll ever see him again.' Yeah, right.
Like anyone would even believe me...heck, I wouldn't
even believe me!
After I got back home I went straight to my room.
I didn't even know what to do with myself anymore. I must have dozed
off, because the next thing I heard was my door opening and closing, and
padded footsteps walking over to me. "Good afternoon, sleeping beauty"
said a vaguely familiar voice. As I slowly opened my eyes, I saw
a blurred figure standing beside me. "Nick? What are you doing
here?" "It's nice to see you too!" he laughed. "We got stuck
here for a bit, our bus broke down last night and it won't be fixed until
Tuesday morning...which leads me to ask, would you possibly be able to
get the day off work tomorrow? I thought maybe we could spend the
day together, just the two of us." I thought for a second and replied,
"Yeah, I should be able to; there's two girls that each owe me a few shifts,
so it shouldn't be a problem...in fact I'll call them right now.
In the meantime, what are you up to today?" "Not much, to tell you
the truth. Do you want to spend the afternoon together?" "Sure,
that'd be excellent. Just let me make that call." I went over
to the phone and started dialing the number. Just as someone on the
other line picked up, I felt Nick's arms slip around my waist, and I let
out a surprised gasp. As I struggled to regain my composure, I heard
the girl on the other end ask me if I was ok. "Yes, I'm alright",
I replied, "Is Tracy there?" "One moment please" she responded.
A second later I heard a "hello?" and I explained to Tracy the I wouldn't
be able to make it in to work tomorrow, and would she possibly be able
to take my shift for me? "Oh sure", she said "I owe you quite a few,
it's no problem!" "Thanks so much! I'll talk to you later...Bye."
I hung up the phone and whirled around to face Nick. "You little
sneak! What's the big idea, scaring me like that?!" I started
tickling him, but he was much stronger than me and had me on the floor
in 2 seconds flat. He looked at me and said "I've always wished for
a girl like you." Then he lowered his face slowly down to mine and
kissed me gently. I felt shivers go up and down my spine as I kissed
him back. As he pulled his face away from mine, I looked deep into
his eyes and whispered "You make me feel so special" and kissed him again.
"Hello?" someone called from the front door.
I stood up and ran to the door. "Uncle Dan! Hi!" He gave
me a strange look and asked "Is your dad around?" "Actually, I'm
not really sure where they are. I must have fallen asleep...wait,
let me see if they left a note."
Sure enough, there was a note on the table explaining
that they'd gone for a walk. "Ok, I'll drive around and see if I
can find them." Just then, Nick walked into the room. "Hi...I'm
Sam's Uncle Dan" my uncle said, holding out his hand for Nick to shake.
Nick grasped his hand and said "I'm Nick, nice to meet you." "Same
here...well, I'll see you guys later", my uncle said, and he left.
"So what do you want to do?" I asked Nick.
"Well, lucky for you I brought my Playstation over,
so I can teach you how to play."
"Uhhh, I really suck at video games" I protested.
"I'll teach you, c'mon."
Well, he was a great teacher. In no time at
all I had the hang of the game and even came close to beating him a few
times. We laughed a lot and talked while we were playing, finding
out more about each other. But soon it was time for Nick to go.
"I've gotta get back to the hotel, the guys and I are having a poker night
tonight, and they told me I'd have to spend the next couple weeks doing
their laundry if I didn't show up for it." I looked at him and asked,
"How did you get here?" "The rental van dropped me off here.
Howie and AJ wanted to take a drive today so they dropped me off on their
way out." "I can give you a ride back to the hotel if you'd like"
I offered. "Are you sure? I mean, you wouldn't mind?"
"Mind? Why would I mind having the chance to spend a little extra
time with my boyfriend?" He laughed and pulled me close to him.
"I'm so glad I met you" he murmured as he kissed me again. ‘But I'm
the lucky one' I thought. He kissed me some more, then gave me a
hug and slipped his hand through mine as we walked to the car. A
wave of pleasure swept over me. ‘So this is what it's like to be
in love.....'
