Yash Chopra seems to be a legend in the Indian Film Industry. He turns out "only" a movie a year or so, but when it's finished it's another big hit, like this one. Though this movie is turning out to be one of India's most popular movies! His son, Aditya, directed this movie.

The movie is set in Europe as well as in India. Shah Rukh Khan plays Raj and Kajol plays Simran, both living seperate lives in London. Raj, a wealthy Londoner, drives a Lamborgini to Cambridge University and lives his life without a care in the world. Simran doesn't seem to be anyone else but a pretty girl wishing to fall in love with some handsome man.

Both wish to see the rest of Europe. No problem for Raj, though Simran needs to persuade (typical) her dad (Amrish Puri), and more or less beg him for permission to go to Europe. Then by one chance out of 100 billion Raj and Simran meet for the very first time when getting on the train at London Victoria Station.

Simran doesn't seem to be charmed by the very-interested-in-her Raj. Raj makes her miss her connecting train, as it seems somewhere in the mountains of Switzerland. So they both get stuck and have to spend the night there. Simran becomes the helpless girl and Raj her saviour of all-time.

Oh well, Simran finally falls in love with Raj on the way. When she gets back home and tells her mom what a nice guy she has met on the way and that she's fallen in love with him, her dad overhears the story. Mad like hell he commands his family to go to India, at what seems to be the very next day. Simrans mariage is already arranged with another guy, Kamaljeet, in India.

Raj finds out that Simran has gone to India, and so he goes too. He has to win Simran from her father, which is not easy. This is made even more difficult by the fact that by chance Raj and Simran's father already met in London, on a not so pleasant occasion! You can see him think "I know this Raj-guy from somewhere"!

In the end the truth about Raj and Simran comes out. Father gets even angrier then before but this time with Raj. Kamaljeet and his friends beat Raj up very badly. Just as Raj, badly bruced and scard, is about to leave on the train, Simran wants to break loose and run for Raj. But her father doesn't let her, or does he? Go see the movie on the big screen!
