Stand In the Gap
Washington DC October 4 1997

I was very fortunate to make the trip to Washington DC on October 4 1997 to stand beside millions of men of God and sing praise to Jesus. The experience was a true blessing on everyone's heart. The Lord said he present when two or more have gathered in his name, you could definitely feel him among millions. Women's Lib and many other groups took their best shots at the event saying it had a hidden political agenda and it was all about men dominating women. There is nothing political or dominating about millions of men drawing closer to the Lord. Here are a few pictures from the event. Im the guy in the white shirt about three rows back. Just kidding.

The crowd stretched from the front lawn of the capital to the Monument. There were so many men that everybody couldn't fit in this large area. Side streets were full of men trying to get in.

This a good shot of the stage, it was taken from right about where I was standing.

Here are some interesting facts about the event:
     Number of Jumbo-trons: 12
Number of Bibles available to be distributed on the Mall: 1 million
Number of Christian motorcyclists arriving Friday: 1,500
Total number of watts of sound on entire Mall: 250,000
Number of chartered jet landings at all three Washington airports Saturday: more than 175
Number of credentialed press as of Oct. 3: Some 1,000 from more than 10 countries
Maximum number of riders per hour on all Metro trains: 100,000
(Total number of commemorative SITG Metrorail passes sold to date: 312,000)
Total number of hotel rooms in DC metroplex: 90,000
(Number of rooms still available Friday night: 312)
Number of port-o-johns on the Mall: 1,500
Number of food vending booths on Constitution Avenue: 150
Total number of credentialed volunteers: 10,000
     (Total number of volunteers: 20,000 – 30,000)

It was truely touching to see this many men build a better relationship with Jesus. I ask you to pray that these men will continue to build on this relationship and inspire the individuals around them to do the same. This country is on the downslide and it our responsibility as Christians to be "Fishers of men," we must be out there winning souls for our Lord. Take time out now and say a short prayer for our country. If you have any special prayer requests, be sure to email them to me and I will put them on my prayer chain. Thank you.
