EDUCATION & YOUR FUTURE SUCCESS

I have THREE (3) College Degrees (& working on my 4th = PhD)!

I believe college is VERY important, especially these days...for many reasons: opens up more employment opportunities, adds to your self-esteem, how people treat & respect you, discrimination reduces, success increases, future plans are easier, your children learn what they live, etc. Plus the more you know, the better off you are in employment, relationships, life, society, etc...especially as a MINORITY AND/OR A FEMYLE.

Did you know that there are now MORE womyn completing their Bachelor degrees then men? But when it comes to a Masters degree level, there are LESS womyn pursuing this educational level than males. Though by the year 2008 womyn are suppose to surpass men attaining a Masters degree, even though womyn are still paid $0.78 for every $1 a man makes & that's WHITE females (minorities are even less than that). Plus there's an EVEN SMALLER amount of womyn attaining their Doctorates (as compared to men)...and MINORITIES are even less than this (barely countable)! Yes, times are changing; this is all a process & it will take a WHILE to improve & for all of us to see the #'s improving, but we have to start somewhere...& Education is part of that change...Just as VOTING & standing up for what you believe in (ACTIVISM) is part of this progressive change also.

MY FIRST DEGREE:
I'm a December 1996 graduate of U.A.A. (University of Alaska, Anchorage).
I received my General Studies, Associate of Arts Degree.

MY SECOND DEGREE:
In May 2000 I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology
(with a Certificate--similar to a Minor--in Women & Gender Studies)
at UM-St. Louis...The University of Missouri, St. Louis.

MY THIRD DEGREE:
I'm also an August 2003 Graduate from Regis University in Denver, CO
(this was an online, accredited, degree program).
I graduated with my Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) :-)

IN THE NEAR FUTURE:
Possibly in 2005, I'll be returning to college AGAIN to attain my Doctorate (PhD degree)
in Criminology/Social Justice or Law with a focus on Womyn & LGBTQ Studies.
YEAH!!! I can't wait! I get soooo excited just thinking about accomplishing yet another of my goals.
It's HARD work but SOOO worth it! :o)

Social Issues, Minority & Womyn's Studies, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered (LGBT) Research/Issues
plus Law and Computers are HUUUGE interests of mine. Hopefully as a PhD recipient,
I can put most of these subjects together into ONE beneficial position.
Then I can TRULY be part of improving our society (and myself). Wish me luck! :0)
