The VFX

This was Malibu Grand Prix's "VFX": a specially modified car that was used at Malibu Grand Prix tracks for drivers that wanted a little more speed and handling from just driving the normal "Virage" race cars. You had to qualify to drive this car by running two consecutive laps at 51.00 (different time at other tracks)without hitting a cone or a berm in one of the regular Virage's. The manager on duty was the only person that would have to watch you and then approve you to drive the car. Once you were approved you received a "Winners Circle" license card that allowed you to drive the car. My best time ever in the car was a 47.01. The track record for the car was a 46.5. I normally ran about 20-24 laps in the car and people would sit there stunned at the speed and agility when I drove it because cause it was the fastest car out there. Bill Dollahite (A former Dell Can-Am driver) would also drive it while I was there. He owns a speed track in Round Rock now. Austin's Malibu Grand Prix track closed about 2 years ago (its a new car storage lot now), and this car is probably more than likely spare parts now. But I will always remember it well!
