It was a cool misty morning down by the Marina...all
the boats were moored
and all was still. The waves lap slowly and methodically upon the shore
beating to a rythmn that she remembers only too well. In the mist a
mysterious young dark haired blue-eyed beauty emerges and is wandering
toward the docks in search of him...her mind begins to wander as it is
wont
to do on mornings such as these...Always searching, searching for the
illusive, hoping that he would appear...but much to her dismay, he does
not
appear.
Her mind tries to recall their last encounter, wanting
to remember every
detail, but finding it hard to remember just how it all began. As she gazes
out over the water, realizing that they may never meet again, a great
sadness consumes her....but still she seeks, still she searches.
A cool breeze brushes her neck and face and as she
touches her face, she
begins to recall that special moment...when they met...
It was last week when on a walk about the beach that
he appeared to her. At
first she thought him an illusion, a figment of her imagination. The
powerful build and his presence were hard to dispell. He was like a magnet
attracting everyone and everything in sight, and yet he seemed unaware
of
this magnificent and unusual power. She had never in her life met anyone
such as him. Nor would she ever again, if truth be told.
As he walked toward her, it seemed he only had eyes
for her. She looked
about in earnest; surely he's not looking at me? she thought. But on he
came...nothing detracted him from his mission.
He had spotted her days before on the beach and knew
that she was special.
The way she walked and the easy and natural way she carried herself, told
him that "she" was the one. He had been searching for years for
just the
right one, and now he knew..she was the one...and on he came.
He was a stately looking man...about 6"1"
and 195 pounds. Longish blonde
hair with deep sapphire blue eyes that looked long and hard into her soul,
or so she thought. And there was the unmistakable growth about his upper
lip....a rather dashing moustache. What was he hiding under that moustache?
Soft, full, sensuous lips like hers? She could not take her eyes off of
him,
the attraction was overwhelming and they both felt it and she knew, that
she
was ill prepared for what was about to come.
It seemed like days before he finally met up with
her....like time was
standing still and no one else existed, but in actuality it was only
minutes. As she peered into his face, their bodies barely touching, and
feeling not the least bit awkward, she searched for some clue. She wanted
some explanation for what she was feeling. She had never felt so much alive.
It seemed like every nerve ending was on fire and needed release. What
was
coming over her? What was coming over him?
When he peered into her face, he saw what he had
been looking for and knew
without a doubt that she would be his and no one else's. They would be
one.
But he did not want to frighten her, and knew that she would frighten easily
and he wanted everything to go smoothly.
Slowly he brushes his strong slender fingers across
her clear soft milky
white face.. Wanting to touch again, but knowing that she might pull away.
Take it slow, he thinks...she will be mine all in good time.
A calm takes over her body and she is at peace with
herself for the first
time in a long time. As she gazes into his eyes, a spark is ignited that
they both feel and cannot be ignored. At first, she wants to pull away,
but
deep down she realizes that she can't...
He takes her arm and guides her down the beach..all
of this is done in
complete silence with only the morning doves awake and cooing their consent.
She walks unafraid into the mist and into the thicket of trees which line
the beach.
He looks around, as if lost, but recognition is sparked
and he finds the
place, the place that he has dreamed of, the place that he has dreamed
of
with her. No words have been spoken, no words need be spoken..all is
understood. The moment she had been waiting for was here and she knew she
would be helpless. This helplessness somehow was tantalizing to her, and
at
the same time she was able to remain calm except for the fact that her
heart
was racing madly.
The tree he was looking for was just up ahead. The
soft bed of ferns at the
base of that tree would make the perfect spot, he thought. Now, there is
no
need to fear..she will not take flight..he has succeeded in his mission.
Slowly he directs her to the bed of ferns and guides her body down upon
them. She does not resist, knowing that it would do little good.
As she gazes into his bright eyes, a flame is ignited
within her and a
craving which she has never known before is calling to her, and she knows
that she must have him, if only for a moment....

Hi there all, I'm safely back from Cape Town - it truly is a
wonderful place. I would love to live there, so different to Joburg.
We went to Hout Bay, all around to Chapman's Peak, also on the Wine Route,
it was great.
The hotel we stayed in was the 5-star Table Bay Hotel ... very impressive
!!!
The weather was beautiful for all three days, the people in Cape Town said
that we were very lucky to have such good weather.

... delighted you are back safely and that you had a good time
.. it is a great place isn't it ? :))
I also love those mountain drives along the coast there ... along Chapman's
Peak overlooking the coast line below, .. can be kinda scary too at times
... pity it was just for a week-end, but at least you have seen the place
now.
Dunno about living there though as the weather can be really miz in winter
with the rain .. but then they need that for the grapes. I prefer to go
there for Holidays at the right times when the weather is good and the
'Cape Doctor' (South easter) is not blowing the roofs off *lol* .. love
it there in December.

Smiles as he recalls the story he heard of the
'Voortrekkers' who moved from the Cape to the Transvaal .. some 1000 miles
away, with about 700 miles of semi-desert (The Karoo) in between. Rumour
has it that only the Afrikaners who could not read, proceeded with 'The
Great Trek' Northwards. *lol* .. Apparently there was a sign at the top
of the Hex River Mountains saying: 'Turn back now before it's too late,
coz on this side there is just miles and miles of eff all' !!!! hahaha
