These are few tests you can use to try the Spirit.

1)   The Holy Sprirt values our individuality. He does not try to usurp our individual personality in any way.
       Demons hates human beings. They try to usurp the individual personality and    replace it with their own.

2)    The Holy Spirit wants us to be in control and responsible for our own actions. He works in us to "will to do God's will." (Phil 2:13).
       Demons wants total control. They will frequently knock the person unconscious and use them in the way the want.

3)     The Holy Spirit is Holy and Pure. He brings purity into our lives. He gives us victory over sin.
        Demons are totally corrupt. They will ALWAYS lead a person to sin deeper and     deeper. In the New Age Movement, the areas of sin show quickly are sexual  immorality and the desire to delve into contact with the spirit world.

4)     The Holy Spirit uplifes and glorify Jesus, thereby bring the person into  humility to Jesus.
        Demons hates Jesus. They glorify the flesh and bring attention to the person himself instead of Jesus. PRIDE is the hallmark of demons and the people they inhabit.

5)     The Holy Spirit NEVER blanks out our minds. He prompts our thoughts but does       not BLANK them. (2 Cor 10:5, Phil 2 :13). He always wants us to actively  cooperate with Him. We Do Not have to blank our minds for the Holy Spirit to speak to us. He can speak at any time He choose.
        Demons blank out a person's mind often. They function best when the person  PASSIVELY let them takes over. Occults always involve a  relaxation technique   to blank out the mind. Demons have difficulties overriding an active strong    mind. They always encourage a period of  mental passivity.

6)     The Holy Spirit convicts us of OUR sin. His conviction is nondestructive. He always lead the person to repentance, forgiveness and peace.
        Demons help the person JUSTIFY his sin, or bring to guilt a NO HOPE for FORGIVENESS or redemption.

7)     The Holy Spirit will NEVER give us any communication that contradicts the Word of God.
        Demons will twist God's word and take it out of context to justify sin.
