How could anyone not ever have heard of Tom Cruise before? The sole survivor of the eighties' Brat Pack (a group of actors toued to be tomorrow's superstars) Tom Cruise has been around since the eighties, and is still going strong as the nineties draw to an end. Looking at him, you would not guess that a man of thrity-five stands before you. Tom still holds his own with the young hearthrobs like Leo DiCaprio, Skeet Ulrich, Jerry O' Connell, Devon Sawa...all who are the latest rage on girls' bedroom walls right now. Yes, until now, Tom is still a much-wanted poster pin-up. His charm and attraction has not been lost; he still has millions of fans all over the world, and the number is rising even as we speak. And no, Tom is not a "looks-but-no-talent" actor: he was, and still is, one of the best actors in Hollywood today. For evidence, look at his performance in Born on the 4th of July, Rainman, and even Interview with the Vampire. Tom is the world's highest-paid actor, at US$20 million a film. He can afford to make just one film a year (which is what is actually happening right now actually) and can live quite comfortably for the rest of his life without having to work again. (Just think, US$20 million!!! I doubt I'd be able to see even one quarter this amount in my whole LIFE)
